For those who wonder why Chubby Boyd is the way he is, look no further lol...

"Put it this way, when Walter Smith took over from him the first thing he said to me was ‘I don’t know what you’ve been doing, son, but you better get back to eating hamburgers’.
Le Guen was huge on players having what he perceived as the right diet, but most of the boys didn’t have enough energy.
It’s not like everyone ate cakes every day under Dick Advocaat and Alex McLeish, but they weren’t banned and those managers did alright.
In fact, when Walter came in after Le Guen the cakes returned and he was also pretty successful."

I seem to recall Neill Lennon flashing a rather large belly after some CL game or other - doesn't necessarily mean you can't play well if you're carrying a couple of pounds. Boyd was a decent striker no matter how much Monster Munch he consumed.

Boyds scoring record against the diddies and the dross, was very good, but when the Huns came up against good professional teams, he was useless because of his lack of fitness. Its no surprise he was left on the bench for European games or that he only had 1 goal against Celtic in his career.
