That's correct Robin, if you consider his credibility alongside OC's, in terms of folks opinion of him from his career appointments you will see a very marked difference.
That for me in itself does not put me in any way into 'a downer' on him.

Saxo, not every single opinion I will have will turn out to be correct. I am human afterall, we all make mistakes.
Going back quite a long time, I did suggest Jimmy Flloyd. Based on his excellent record at Burton, his promotion, and his stock being high. Your using hindsight, which as we all know is a wonderful thing. I didnt have that grace on forming my opinion, so thats that. Its easy to look back now, like you often do, and poke fun.
As always I will try and look outside of the box, and for the less obvious, as that's football.
I was critical of Lambert. Before he did anything. And it turned out to be a very bad choice. As was Coyle. And if you just simply look at Mowbray in recent times (and not 10 years ago when he had a modecem of sucess) and his abject failure at Coventry its a fair assumption to say this worries me.
Senior is making this decision. He leaves a trail of destruction at every club he's been at. So yes ...I would question this.
Sorry champs, I should have added.. Just because hasselbaink failed at QPR, doesn't mean he wouldn't have succeeded at rovers. That's how difficult it is to pick the right man, you never know. There are very few 'sure things', even rowett might not have worked out at rovers, you never know.
But if it was your choice Sax, a straight choice between Rowett or Mowbray .....it was your club, you made the decision, who would you opt for? I'll tell you now, I'd go for Rowett 100 times out of 100. Over Mowbray. Nothing, as you correctly point out, is a given. But if you look at what Rowett has done in recent times, then your making a more informed choice. I'm not interested in what Mowbray did over 10 years ago. As it's just not relevant. I'm looking over his record at Coventry. And it fills me with worry. Like it did looking at Coyles recent record. He did ok at Burnley, but a very long time ago in football terms. If we are going to take such a cheap gamble, then why didn't we just go for Ainsworth at Wycombe. At least he'd care , being a local lad and a Rovers fan.
Or if we where actually serious about trying to stop up, then offer Rowett a contract up to summer, offer him a bonus if we stayed up, and review again come summer. That way Rowett didn't have to commit to our joke of a club.
Instead we have clearly accepted our plight. Are we now to allow this failure to bring in his own back room staff? Like we did with Coyle? If so ho winder we are screwed. And now they are lumbered with a bloke who has recently failed in the division we are about to drop into. This isn't like Bolton who got an excellent coach at the level they dropped into. And why they are likely to come back up. Mowbray won't do that. As he's just proved at Cov.
Im just grateful for small mercies.
Whether we get relegated or not did Coyle have the lowest budget and worst training facilities other than Rotherham?
For me,Christmas has come early irrespective of what Mowbray does or does not do.
I see Claudio Ranieri is now a "bad" manager.
I'm not poking fun, I totally respect your opinion.
Am I right in thinking Don Mackay was recruited from Coventry having had a relatively poor record? He didn't work out too bad..
