All we can do is keep our fingers crossed and see what happens, work on a new training ground sounds promising, and early recruitment too, all the right noises DWTM!!
Yes he will.
Probably finish mid table or higher so will be retained on another 12 month rolling contract as it's the cheap option but will be told must hit the play offs as a minimum target the following season...
With all the negativity around the club this season. Threads like these are inevitable
Fans talk about a clear out at the club to get rid of the loosing mentality what about on here and the terraces?
When we lost Saturday and it was confirmed we were down I felt nothing. You see fans crying and holding there heads in disbelief when they are relegated
Na nothing like that people around me were saying "well that's confirmed we're officially down". My reply. Ah ok. Who wants a pint.
Cayton spot on Fella I felt nothing when it was confirmed but who's to really blame for all the negativity this season?
The reality was we were down mid season if not before, have to admit to shedding a tear in previous reli's but not this one,it was such a sure fire result of Mr Stewarts stewardship this term, almost feels like relief tbh.
Yes it was a bit different for us as most of of knew we had no chance as long ago as October or even before.
With the loan window firmly shut it was an impossible task.
I think the crying and sad faces are reserved for fans who's team made a decent fight of staying up with the hope being there right to the end.
Speaking of which I'm struggling to remember a season where we've nearly stopped up but failed at the last hurdle. I remember playing Swansea in a play off and ultimately going down but any others? Usually we are dead and buried when we drop
I agree with lbj we can't blame Stubbs alone
We all know we should have been relegated last season but with grit determination and bucket full of luck survived
IMO tony was right to wait on warnocks decision. If we could have retained his service it would have been a major coup for our small club
Tony then went on to appoint the wrong manager. Well I say wrong. On paper and what he had done in Scotland Stubbs could have been a gem of a signing. Unfortunately it didn't work so he was judged as being the worst manager in millers history
Tony decided under I think fan pressure that he needed to get rid of Stubbs and bring in jacket
I guess we will never know why jacket walked. We all have a clue that it's the state of our team/budget etc.
Tony was then backed into a corner. Does he try for a lower league manager and pay compo to get them or risk getting one off the dole.
Short term he appointed warne and up to the burton game looked a good move.
Obv it went pear shaped and we were relegated with 7 to go
Tony and the board then had a choice. Stick with warne or start again (think it's 8 managers in 6 years)
TBH there is no right or wrong answer to the next manager. Time will tell
Haha so to answer your question brin
IMO it was a combination of things that lead to the problems not one thing or person. I can see why people blame tony Stewart as he is the leader and makes the decisions but if Stubbs had worked tony is a hero. I can see why people blame Stubbs but was the rule change the nail in rotherhams coffin small teams need loan players to compete and with that window now being small it's always going to be tough.
Just look at the other divisions all the teams with financial restrains (for the division) are down near the bottom the loan deal change has really hit us hard
