This attack was a vehicle being driven at pedestrians initially. It could have been carried out on any street in any town at any time. You cannot practically "protect" against that.

Actually you can if you saw the attack being planned and got to the scene of the crime scene first and prevented it. More undercover work needs to be done to get information from the terrorists to be able to know what they are planning, so we can prevent these attacks. We have a terrorism network to find all this information, so why are we not using it enough?

I guess they never thought about undercover work?

But consider this - I could wake up this morning and go out and mow down some pedestrians in my local town. I could take a kitchen knife.

No planning needed. Quiet suburban road - families walking back from church on a sunny morning. Or at the lical moslem temple if you prefer. It can be a totally spur of the moment thing.

I dont because I do not feel the need. I do not feel alienated from society, I do not have grievances against "the west", Ive not been radicalised by others that do. The cure lies here - prevent people from feeling that way, because you cannot stop the action.

Education might work, "protection" as you put it will not because indiscriminate targets are easy to find. Address the cause not the effect.

Actually Rodger it doesn't just take picking up a simple knife and then slicing people up and getting into a van and start running people over.

It takes co-ordination and planning the attacks carefully and precisely in a team effort.

So you want to educate the terrorists, there is no educate the terrorists, we don't want to make them smarter and we certainly don't want to negotiate with them either.

We still go on as modern day citizens and stand up to fear and we certainly won't be radicalized.

He woke today and decided he's going to PM 1 day. This is the first step in his 'grand design.'
Very novel ideas nobody had thought off.
