Forgive my lack of understanding of "yoof English" but what does the expression "laying us bigly" mean?

The signings that we have brought in have shown no signs of our change in style of play, we still look like the same side before they were even brought in and that is worrying signs indeed. The balance is not right either and still a lot of players that needs shifting off the books and the midfield and our attacking play needs major improvement if we are going to be real promotion contenders for the upcoming season.

As I said "It's going to be a long season ahead of us" we got a lot of work to do.

First half Johnson and Butterfield couldn't get a grip in midfield second half Bryson just as bad .Perhaps the problems lie in our centre midfield

R4j got to agree with you Think were going backwards we're is the pace and power we we're promised by Rowett What he sees in Russell god knows he couldn't beat an egg He has come out at the end of the last two seasons and admitted he's not been good enough How long do we wait for him Thought Weiman did OK but that was about it Huddleston passed the ball well but caught out of position way to many times without the pace to recover that's a concern

I dont think we should lose sight of the fact that our opposition qualified for the Champions League this season and so the performance should be measured against that fact. So we didnt look great but the opposition is a team that achieved what Arsenal and Mank United couldnt last year.

And they are Germans so naturally we missed a penalty.

Doesn't matter who we play on the day, if we are still performing in the same manner as we left off before the end of last season with our recent signings we are in for a long haul this upcoming season.

Rowett has got a huge task on his hands to get this team working to any sort of potential and god help him because he needs it.

So what you are saying, by claiming that it doesnt matter who we are playing, is that whether we play Barcelona or the Greta Garbo Home for Wayward Boys and Girls we would still lose if we play like today?

We must of (sic) been bad.

10 points for the musical reference (no googling)

Weirdly I could sing it before I placed it. Thought it was the wonderful Ray (Davies) for a moment but no...Manfred Mann.
Rather have 10 pints...but you are absolutely right. We shouldn't beat ourselves up about losing narrowly to a Champions League team and especially with the first match of the season just six sleeps away.
