In truth that Leeds side was jam packed with quality players. Giles Bremner Charlton Clarke Lorimer Jones Gray to pick out a few. With that team Leeds should have won more silverware. That they did not was a combination of bad luck outside their control but also misfortune of their own making. A lot of the bad feeling that Burnley fans have arose from the game at Elland Road prior to the FA Cup Semi final with Newcastle in 1974. The comments allegedly made to Burnley players before the kick off at Elland Road that they had better watch out if they wanted to be fit to play against Newcastle and the demolition job on Frank Casper have left a very sour taste.

they had talented players for sure but were a bunch mainly of ruffians that kicked anything that moved.Just ask Frank Casper his views on Norman Hunter- second thoughts, dont as they wont be repeatable on here. Let's hope they follow the deadwoods down to League 1...

Yes they had a great attacking force and a dirty mid field with Norman bite your legs Hunter probably theirmost aggressive and destructive player in the days before yellow cards and of rare sending offs, though Bremner wasn't far behind.
I didnt know about the Newcastle and Casper incidents.

Anyone see Don Revie and others giving a face down naked Leeds player a pre match massage on James Corbyn quiz show last night. Jamie Rednapp was astonished. I know they were a dirty team ....

You can see it here 7mins 30 seconds in or so - seems everyone got a rub!!

What was Brian Clough's opinion of the Leeds team when he took over from Revie?
