In short, some people will believe anything told em by MSM, you're seeing the same kind of thing here, with vocal support for idiots like rees smog, Tommy Robinson-larkin or whatever he's called these days, Theresa May etc etc.

sorry magic but Prezzer Trump was elected by bypassing the usual media outlets, fake news as he calls it, and went direct to his supporters via twitter as did the militant tendancy....oops old labour as its now called in the last election.

Why is it that every time there's a politics thread up then name calling starts even before anyone says anything?

That's the problem with the threads.

I'm with you all the way fire , let him believe in what he wants and take his chances at the ballot box , he's a gift to Labour mate if he takes over .
I'd rather a politician be honest about their religious views rather than hide them like Farron and Blair.

If he was a Muslim then his views would be fine I presume or is it just the media going after the easy target again?

Do you think they use the phrase "honesty is the best policy" ?

I think Rees- Mogg is a breath of fresh air.

There is the usual hysterical reaction from the stasi-twitter mob but I have listened to the whole interview and all he does is.......wait for it....... disagree.

The leftwingers who are condemning him would no doubt be protecting a muslim MP with similar views with no accompanying hysteria.

Rees Mogg also highlights with his integrity the ever changing duplicitous view of the multi culti mob, whose views and morals change in the wind.

We then have the bigoted views from the working classes who somehow think being posh is a character flaw.

I think if we had more people like Rees Mogg England would at least have some of its own culture left.

To me, aside from what he's said today, it flags up that MPs can be very quickly in the picture to be a leader without mich scrutiny of what their capabilities are. Amber Rudd was the same but I saw her give a speech as part of work when she was Energy Minister and she was awful. Showed very little understanding of business or her subject matter. Claire Perry, current Energy Minister, was far better and in my eyes much more capable.

We don't go into actual managerial and emotional and intellectual intelligence and ability enough when thinking about who would be a suitable leader, it's just who is flavour of the month or right place and right time because they seem less useless, or fresh or different (politicians seem as much swept up by this as the electorate). JR-M is an example of this - 'oh he's different and charismatic so he'd be good'.
