If he's a smart boy, he'll look at Maguire who could have gone earlier, but stayed to get his grounding and game experience rather than go an play U23 games for some big club and an occasional bench warming in the League Cup. Of all the ones who has gone on to bigger and better, he's the one who is playing regularly. In any case, who says we're not going to be PL next year, or the year after, paying the big wages..?

Every player has a price. This kid has talent and drive. Quality youngsters have it. Rooney had it for example. Play without fear. He can only get better. Personally i wouldn't be too down about selling him as long as the money was right. Its the nature of the game and we aren't high enough up the food chain. I would rather keep him though.

    Exactly.

Plus while I'm sure Tufty would love to keep him l bet he'd be thinking about what he could do with the money.

Another proper common sense point of view.

This'll be the acid test. He'll go at some point, that much is obvious. But the key questions are: a) will we get a decent amount of wedge for him, reflective of his potential, and b) will Tufty get to reinvest the money in the squad?

If the answer to either of those questions is no, it's another kick in the *******s for the fans.

I think that if Tufty has sold his vision of the revolution right to Brooksy, then we may keep hold of him a while longer than we think. If he thinks about it in a sensible way, he'll be playing in the shop window a lot more with us thus pushing his already large transfer fee (+ our 20% sell on when he signs for Real ) even higher, along with which will come automatically higher wages. Win win for all parties.

Hope it doesn't turn sour for us blades in that CW wants to keep Brooks but then is told from above he has to go which leads to CW saying if Brooks goes then he will walk away from the blades lets hope not UTB
