Boingy I know where you are coming from but it's fine to say we are building but to do what. Putin has his 'style' that has to be the worst in the Premiership. I'm all for being positive but there is nothing to be positive about. Two wins in gawd know's how many together with such negative football clearly going for a point in almost every game....it's drivel and no mistake. I amongst many others accept we won't win every game but delivering such negative carp every game only drives me to stay at home doing something positive! I've fallen out of love with football these days.....such turgid, negative, 'afraid to loose' mentality is not something I wish to follow. Very sad!

To be honest lads, most of these popular and busy FM boards are losing fans now and I dont think its all down to the home team doing badly etc.
FM have scored a few 'own goals' over the years with how they have constantly changed the boards and the introduction of all these ads is just appalling. And while I think most teams do also have their own boards away from FM, I still think the best thing about this network is the easy way to chat with 'away' boards and fans as well.

I have to agree with Acido up to a point. I get really frustrated with the operation of the board. Adverts pop up in the middle of typing a post, and at times the board has a mind of its own. When you have spent , say ten minutes composing an item, and it disappears in to the ether, you think why bother. We have lost many good posters of our board, and we are playing well at the moment, so it can't be the poor standard of football.

I understand perfectly how you feel Pugmitch. I do. I still feel we are missing a proven goalscorer. None of the ones we have bought now for years have hit the ground running. January has to be about forwards in my opinion but then I felt that way in the summer transfer too. I think managers have to put up with players playing well enough in training to be picked for the weekend only to not perform in the matches that matter. I tend to look at the whole picture in the prem and take note that a lot of teams are disappointing their fans this season. Everton, Stoke, West ham, Leicester for example are underperforming. Changing our manager at this point would be suicide in my opinion, it would take at least ten games to get used to the changes by which time we would be screwed. We know we can perform well, we just arent doing it consistently enough. Thats the problem a lot of teams are facing this season.

No Boingy. Pulis has totally lost it, needs replacing now before it's too late. We can't win matches the way we are set up (well not many) and will continue to struggle under him. We were fortunate to beat Burnley & Bournemouth. We make so few chances per game and sit so deep. It's become obvious to opposing managers that we aren't going to pose much threat attack wise giving them carte blanche to attack at will.

I think that as advertisements have increased on the board, participants have decreased. There were also some childish posters whose sole purpose seemed to be to piss off other people. I guess they succeeded. Maybe as well, many proper football supporters, as many who used these boards were, have become disillusioned about premier league football as a whole. Leagues one and two are often more exciting, more end to end. Why pay good money to watch overpaid multi millionaires ponce around a football field. Do many of them care much about the supporters? The sooner a European super league is set up and betting companies are banned from sponsoring domestic football the better. An attempt should be made to take English football back towards its roots, get the so called big money out of the game, it would be all the better for it.

Oh yes, and it is time for Tony Pulis to go.

The actual vbulletin boards are a massive improvement on what the forums were hosted on before, the ads can be blocked by using A...D..Blo.ck I think if the footy mad forums are the only ones some posters have ever used then they aren't used to the software being used, like a lot of stuff, it takes time to get used to. Many of those that don't post tend to use either facebook or twitter.

I've never been one of the 'Pulis out' brigade as I think he was the right man at the right time. However, I'm now coming around to the opinion that perhaps we do need a change of direction. Many of our recent performances have been extremely poor and I totally agree with you Chris, that sides do not have to worry too much about us offensively and that we play too deeply, especially if we take a 1-0 lead or in the first half of games. Who would be the man to take over, I don't know. Perhaps if TP changed direction it might be the answer but possibly the saying 'You can't teach an old dog new tricks' applies. I just don't know!

That's how i see it Chris, i love to have TP for the next 5 years a decent man im absolutely sure , BUT its football & thats ALBION that matters to all of US & its dire & i can't see it ever changing it needs a new broom to sweep clean now before its to late not wait till January for the transfer window because thats another aspect of him i dont like , i wouldn't trust him to buy well if we had 100,000,000 to spend , i find it sad but i don't see anyway out now .
