Well, call me a contrarian but I've aye loved Aberdeen airport. And chiefly due to the size. Canna be daen wi bigger airports, wondering how long it's gonna take to get fae here to there. Millions o fowk waddling slowly into yer way, expressly intent mind...
But I agree that the pub is a major reason for this appreciation. Spent so much time in Umea (Sweden) airport, wi its total lack o pubs or any decent sandwich stall, that I can easily sum up the necessary criteria for a small plane track.
It is what it is I suppose. Only thing that bugs me is lack of space. When I get through security I like to check what gate I'm at, get close to it and find a seat to chill out. At Dyce airport it is usually chocka when you get through and everyone is in each others faces. I really like Alicante airport, f*ckin loads of space and a few nice bars including the one in the sports bar/ casino.
Gratis if anyone is up for my boring inane sh@te
That February min?
Aye min
Aberdeen airport is pi$$. I travel through there a lot, my daughter works there, but it is still pi$$. The staff are all (to a man/woman/genderneutral) grumpy and do not realise the customer just wants a quick and easy passage to the actual plane. The incoming customs ****$ are the worst. 2 or 3 people manning the desks with another 3 behind asking where you have been (fu** right off, you know exactly where I have been due to the flight manifests you up your ar$e caaants).
it's where I land and it's where I stay, but fu*k me they are so up their own importance they are an embarrassment. Small airport, think they are important. Compare that with Schipol, big airport and very friendly and easy to navigate.
Very rarely I slag off anything from Aberdeen (okay, maybe the council), but our airport is a joke.
And breathe
Absolutely
At least they don't have that stupid 10.30pm curfew any more.
