One of the things Paul Conway said at today's press conference did raise my eyebrows .

He said " having looked at the returns on the sale of players versus outlay we were very impressed "

He used the words " too good to be true and that's what highlighted the club and brought it to our attention "

Now then Paul , don't get carried away thinking we've got some magic potion that we make all our new recruits drink which turns them into multi million pound players .

We haven't , we've had a good bat at the ball in recent times but we've not cornered the market mate I can tell you .

Football doesn't work like that and it will never be an exact science .

Great point Animal. I was thinking exactly the same. What exactly was he referring to that's "too good to be true"? The fact the club has raised plenty of income through player sales or that were a Championship club that's in the black. Hmmm, I wouldn't suggest it was the latter. Also Mr Conway kept referring to Nice's successes in past tense. Interesting. See he's come straight under scrutiny wi us lot


On the gamble issue Animal you have to be respectful of the fact that major business people don't expect returns on their investments straight away. Every business needs investment in some capacity but football investments like ours would take years to yield profit unless we got unexpectedly promoted. I'm sure they're fully aware of this. They ain't fly bi night merchants in my opinion. I sincerely hope they're going into this over a long period of time.
