All we have to do is to add a no nonsense striker (not easy) and a potential play maker or at least designate a talented player to the fold.
I think we have a few that can be changed for good effect. Ritchie being one I'd try.

A few loans would be a massive step up to at least get us out of this mire and then move on with some real purpose next season.

    MASSIVE HOPE.
I can't believe Ritchie hasn't at least been tried as a number 10 while Perez and De-ar-me are plodding around the place.

There's a lot of things that baffle me about Rafa's choices.
The simple idea for Rafa, it seems, is to play those he not only trusts but also those who he believes will give him the most effort for the least trouble in terms of not sticking to a set plan.

It can be effective as a wolfpack measure but will soon be catered for once teams set about getting around it.
As we can see, they have.

If Rafa's mindset was more on horses for courses but with the option of a plan B at the right times, then I believe he could do a hell of a lot better with this squad.

as you know I'm a Rafa fan and firmly believe Ashley ha screamed our mess (but that is a different story / debate).

Rafa's biggest downfall is his reluctance to actually use a plan B at all. because (whether you Rate him or not) Mitro would be our plan B. just as Andy Carroll is west hams.

I'm still hopeful we can get out of the mess we are in, but it will need EVERYBODY from top to bottom within the club to be on the same page.

I was a Rafa fan but his ways have cooled me off him.
I accept Ashley has plenty of blame attached to him but as it stands we have to (like you say) all pull together.
I also agree about Mitrovic being a good plan B but I have a feeling that it's a spent force to even think of as of now, because I think the water is over that bridge, not under it.

we have no other options up front as Hosses Poo is just awful to watch and his return is pitiful.

that's what we are stuck with for the next 4 games at least though.

We've got some very winnable games and Rafa needs to sort it out and then he can ship out whoever in January and restart.
