For me he is the type of player we should be linked with but it says a lot about the clubs standing that we are not. It beggars belief when we all know where we need to strengthen the side. Do our recruitment team ever watch the games? If they do, then God help us if they think that the goalkeeping spot is a priority. Dan Ashworth, where are you when we desperately need you?

On the subject of goalkeepers, I have been watching the Albion since the days of Norman Heath and Jim Sanders and in my humble opinion Ben Foster is top of the pile. John Osborne was a good 'keeper but again, in my opinion, no better than Tony Godden who I thought was most underrated.

I think this is the problem with foreign ownership. No one really knows what half these people are really worth or who back's them. Lai is no different if you read up on him. He was a figure off the radar according to a recent article on him and whilst he has certainly made money, no one knows how much of this was his money or how much came from investors to buy us. At a guess, I'd suspect this is behind any decisions that happen in January and the general veil of silence.
