Everyone expected defeat by Man City. Can't blame Rafa for that. It's not quite so obvious why he's blameless for home defeats by Watford, Everton and Bournemouth. But we all know the 'get-out-of jail' card -not enough spending. I think we will win against Brighton but if we don't I think the alarm bells will really ring. If we get beat it'll be interesting to see the explanations people give. It'll also be interesting to read the 'positives': we had some shots at goal or whatever. If we can't beat a team like Brighton at home we really are in trouble.

What I'll never understand is one minute we're a championship squad and the next we should be beating the likes of Brighton and all the rest of the teams that are around us.
We had a net spend didn't we?
Rafa actually saved money, right?

Brighton and Huddersfield, etc all spent way more than us, right?
They bought for the premier league which made their teams PREMIER league teams whilst we are still championship....right?

So therefore Brighton and co will be coming to play us with the mindset of a must win, yet we have to get 7 points as a minimum from the 3 games.

The reality is we aren't a championship squad, we are a premier league team on par with half of that premier league...no question about it.

nope i have said if we tried to play against them and lost by 6 i wouldnt have complained

what i am complaining about is we didnt try and could easily have been 3-4 down at half time
and then i would have moaned as we simply didnt try

i praised the effort for the west ham game and the attacking we did

we arent that bad going forward
we have taken the lead in several games

what we cant do is what everyone keeps telling me rafa is great at sorting which is defend

im honestly beginning to feel rfa cant sort the defence out without 11 behind the ball

and cant get a team to play some kind of offensive footy whilst defending

if we had lost 6-0 giving it a go and contributing something to the game i would not have moaned many have been taken apart by them and teams a lot better than us
there would be no embarrassment in that

what was embarrasing is the way we played from the start

if it had been a boxing match the ref would have stopped the fight as we offered no punches

if we had thrown a few he would have let the fight go on
