I get the extra revenue bit but there are 3 working days left to sort out the glaring shortcomings of the team.

Can we afford to be saying - if we get through let's call target A if we don't let's call target B

A dangerous game in my humble opinion.
No of course not that would be a crazy idea and its not one I think we are trying to do either.

My guess is we are after a player/s who is perhaps keeping his options open as late as possible i'd also like to think we have a few more irons in the fire so to speak in case any moves breakdown.

I agree with sidders but for no other reason than a gut feeling.
Transfer window opened and we were points clear in second place but with just a hint of a loss of form. THAT was the time to nail players, not banking on cash from the cup and a last minute attempt to get players. January is not good for quality players at the best of times but all the quality available would normally be signed early on. What's left? Players deemed not quite good enough, out of contract players (who are normally out of contract for a reason) and old boys that are looking for a last wage.
I would love to be proven wrong but I doubt the players we need to really push on are sitting at home waiting for AH to cash the FA cheque.
    Just a line of thought.

If our transfer policy is based on beating a team 3 leagues higher than us then we need a new transfer policy.

Nolan rates two of our strikers, both well into their 30s. If we don’t sign another proven striker then I assume the current board are perfectly happy to be in League 2 next year and this should be clearly communicated to fans.

AH's latest tweet in answer to question about signing center back and striker.

God quality is ambitious but they will be bloody good

I am hoping that Nolan Says the right thing about our current players to keep team morale up and is looking at a striker who can step straight into the first team at the expense of either Stead or Shola.

We have so far £112,500 in prize money, £72,000 in TV money, £7,500 5live coverage, £6,250 for extended BBC Highlights and probably a £90,000 share in the gate money against Swansea. That is £288,250 plus the share of the gate money from the previous rounds which would not have been budgeted for. Add this to the £100,000 we were going to pay for Noble and it would suggest that although the rich pickings from a win tomorrow would be very welcome, it would not be essential for us to win to be able to fund a couple of decent players.

We did have to pay Sheridan off in the end though! wasn't that 100k?

Hardy also said he his 250 grand better off than he thought. I dont think telling current players of new signings coming in to take their place straight away would be a good idea before a big game
