One thing that my son has picked up on is that when VAR has been used the 'smaller' clubs do not get a look in...he noticed this when Fleetwood played Leicester...it was Leicester that got all the VAR....so come on FA get it right.
It is logical that the big clubs will get the more calls . Last night the possession was 68-32%. I don't think they called any of them wrong. The own goal stood after they had had a look at it, and the other decisions were correct so Marriner did nothing wrong.
Whilst it will produce a fairer game I did find it darn annoying.

All of the decisions that were arrived at by VAR were correct. However, do we want the farcical situation that we witnessed at last night's game, week in, week out. If it stops the obviously poor decisions, all well and good, but it must not interfere with the flow of the game as it did last night. If the referee is unsure he should refer it to the fourth official who makes the decision and only overturns it if obviously wrong. That decision shound be immediate. I haven't got all the answers but to my mind it needs much more further thought before it is adopted.

My understanding is the VAR official brings it to the attention of the ref who then looks at a screen replay before making the final decision. For last night's penalty the ball went straight out of play so there was an immediate stoppage of play and so an immediae review (which then took 3 mins.)

If the ball had stayed in play for a few minutes would there have been a review? Imagine the controversy if say we had gone to the other end and got a corner, a free kick or a goal.

I don't like taking the final decision from the ref but if this is to work the bloke with the screen has to make the decision straight away. I think!
