Ahhh but we no longer have the same team saxo so we have to adjust thinking slightly however I am not sure a draw being ok at Plymouth is what we should be striving towards
No disrespect to Plymouth but promotion is winning at these places play offs are not.

Too strong, Saxo. We had a bad patch with that, but I'm hoping we're through it now.
It has to be said, though, that many of the teams we've faced make our line-up look like Dwarf Rovers!

Really we should be winning these sort of games if we have any drive for promotion
I know I predicted a draw but that is because of our patchy record against the lower teams but realistically we SHOULD be winning these sort of games all day long.
Hi Robin. So I come to this 'ill take a point now' as if we carry on the current pattern of results, we will end up with over 90 points. That run of results will see us draw every second away game and win a majority of our home games. We won at Fleetwood, got 4 points at home from 2 games, and I am thinking 4 points form these next 2 games (I never look at one game in isolation, as they always come in 2 per week) Carry on like this we will finish 2nd. We won't win every week. An away point is acceptable at any level, any league at any point.
If we are going to win the league, then we will have to go away here and win.

Saxo ......I am going to challenge you here, sorry.
Where is this negativity coming from? I get a discussion, which is good. But why so negative? I don't actually see how this season could be going any better? All things considered. I think folk need to remember just how bad things had got at Ewood. When TM came in, we had a really poor squad. He has basically built a new team. Mostly young. We are fkn 2nd!!!! A point behind the leaders, who couldn't beat us with 9 men, who still have to come here. We will batter them.
FFS have a bit of faith, that's the name of the game.
I just don't think we could be doing much better than this, after a shocking few years.
Me ....I am proud of my club right now. The fans who have stayed with us have made me proud. I have a club and team who are making me proud, and a manager who is doing a great job.

While I enjoy topics etc .....can we stop nit picking every single thing that may or may not go wrong.
It hasn't gone wrong, right in front of you now as we speak our lads are doing us proud. And folk like me are spending a small fortune on going all over the country to watch us to support the lads on. And when we win promotion, we ALL celebrate together. And we WILL go up.
Take a moment here, think about what we have been through. Being ripped apart, embarrassed, let down. Great things are happening! Take a min to enjoy it, support us, the fans, the club, the manager, the players. Carry on looking for fault, and you will miss this!! Its a turning point this for us as a club. An upturn. In years top come, we will look bac k at this turning point. Don't miss it. Get your coat on and support us!! You may even enjoy it. I have had one crap day out all season. The rest have been as exciting, enjoyable as I've experienced in years.
All we ever wanted and demanded was our Rovers back. They are!! don't miss it looking for faults. Be part of it.

I just want to explain ,myself. Not being difficult, just if I see something I strongly disagree with, I will say something, and back it up. So I have been to the games and seen them live.
    Walsall (h)
    Northampton (h)
Fleetwooid (away) didn't go, but we didn't concede from a set piece then)
    Shrewsbury (h)
    Rotherham (away)
    S****horpe (h)
    Rochdale (h)
    Northampton (away)
    Peterborough (away)
    Blackpool (away)
    Bristol Rvrs (h)
Oxford (away) I missed this but we didn't concede from a set piece)

.....I could keep going here .......

We have conceded 1 goal during that time, from a set piece. Away at Peterborough. I really am struggling with this mate, got to be honest. Say something, back it up. What/when and how have you come to this we cant defend set pieces?
While we could do better (any team could, even Man City who have unlimited resources) we don't concede many. We are top scorers in this division. Scoring some really excellent team goals. And are in the top 3 best defences in the league.

Ur always welcome to challenge me champs, as ever..

My opinion is based on numerous comments from fans, who like you, are attending games and match reports online and in the media.

We have been weak on set pieces, Mowbray acknowledged as much himself. He isn't doing a great job, but he's not beyond criticism. That what's these boards are about. Do we all act like that bloke off 'the fast show', 'ain't Mowbray great?'.. 'Ain't rovers great?'..

Saxo - Champs' point is that there still seems to be an undue level of negativity in places, considering the amazing turn-around in our fortunes recently. Is every set of fans like this, I wonder, or are Rovers supporters particularly bad - stuck in a gloomy mindset because of recent history?
I honestly believe that there are certain supporters who are more interested in their opinions/predictions being proved correct than in the success of the team. That may be harsh, but if you look at the nit-picking on the Telegraph site or at the fact that some people only post when we haven't won, it's hard to draw any other conclusion.
I thought Mowbray was a so-so choice. So did Robin. However, we were prepared to give him a chance, and - to be honest - he has amazed me with his creative and innovative approach. After the first two games, he clearly realised he was going to have to recruit significantly to get a squad suitable for his vision. Well, he's done it. I am sure there will still be set-backs. I think you're wrong to say we should stroll to victory in every game. Football doesn't work like that (Chelsea 0 v. Bournemouth 3 - who predicted that?).
To stop rambling and get back to the point, Champs is surely right to say we have plenty to celebrate at the moment. We might easily have been five or six up against Walsall at half-time. The only drawback is, even more teams are going to shut up shop now!

Very well put Aucks, sums it up perfectly. Definitely about an element of our fan base wanting us to fail, to prove some point. And this strange negative outlook, almost wanting something to go wrong.
I can only add to all of that, I too was underwhelmed at Mowbray's appointment. And I too was shocked to see what and innovative manager he is. He sees a mistake, it gets addressed, we move on stronger. He improves footballers. What he has done with Dack (eg) is so good to see. And rare in many managers. But some fans just like to moan, for the sake of it. I can't be arsed with that, so I'll say it. And back it up.

Although I have said before that all clubs seem to have their share of ‘outright complainers’, to varying percentages. I use the term seem to cautiously as I do not have sufficient ‘in depth’ knowledge of other clubs bar ours.
That said, currently and especially on LT, plus the lack of returning numbers to Ewood when we are going through what I consider a resurgence . I am altering my thought a tad and now viewing ourselves as maybe one of the poorer ‘supported’ clubs positivity wise.
You’re very much ‘on the money’ when saying that those regular moaners will never ever be happy. I gave up on them many moons ago.
If they could only allow themselves to open their eyes and admit , enjoy and celebrate ‘where we’re at’ currently, it would be a tremendous fillip to those guys doing their bit out on the field of play.
No one is claiming we’re the best thing since sliced bread, or Citah should watch out.
But from where we were over the last two years, we are now in a far better place and those that have stayed the course (as Champs celebrates) for sure feel they are at last getting their club back.
Maybe the ones that are’nt, don’t actually want it back (because they didn’t really buy into it in the first place) and it would satisfy their standpoint ???

I maybe need to add that although my posting name is still up there as Despair🤔. It’s only laziness really that’s got in the way of changing it more recently to Mr Optomistic 🙂
