Glad to see you walked that back.

I have been massively disappointed with Fester this season because I really used to like him. He’s gone badly off form and his reds were the last straw for me. Wouldn’t have blamed Rafa for pushing him out in the window because I could have sworn that he just lost the plot. But he was everywhere today providing much needed steel in our DM. He was mighty.

Oh. And compared to our usual keeper performances, it was like signing De Gea for 90 mins. While our keepers can stop shots, to be fair. It was a luxury having a keeper who actually knows how control the box, distribute with precision and pass with confidence. I almost sh’it myself when I thought he took a blow to the head.

Watching him back on MoTD he was even more impressive!

Fair play where it’s due, don’t mind admitting my mistakes.

Makes you think mind... Shelvey massively disrespected Rafa by refusing to shake his hand when he came off against Swansea... yet someone would have you believe Mitrovic wasn’t played because he swore in front of his daughter and wouldn’t apologise... doesn’t add up does it 😉

He was awesome, but to keep our feet on the ground he did have an outstanding Lascelles and Lejeune in front of him... or was it they were that bit better because he was making the shouts behind them?

A solid/hearts on sleeves defensive performance and we needed it to weather some of the storms we faced.

Big shout out to Gayle for being in the right place to make a DOUBLE block too mind 💪

Dubravka communicated better with the defenders than Elliot/Darlow. He made mistake in the first corner (was it first or second) without shouting to Yedlin and luckily wasnt punished. After that communication was better that I have seen in a long while at Newcastle.

Agreed - it's the symbiotic nature of the defence and keeper.

I really loved seeing all the communication, something we've needed for a while.

Great debut by Dubravka and fingers crossed he goes on from here to become a solid number 1.
    It's looking good so far.
