Everything in moderation is a wise move.
However even if you do follow that ethos you have a heart that will give you trouble or one that won’t it’s genetics.
RIP Ray.

A poster on S24 was telling me it’s down to an athletes heart growing in size acter all the years of intense exercise and when they stop their regimes and the body weakens it has difficulty sustaining the heart’s blood supply making it more likely to fail.
Apparently the new theory is that it’s important to ‘train down’ after a life as an athlete and get your heart and body ready for a more sedate lifestyle.
Interesting theory and would make some sense of the issue alongside genetics.
Had to share this story about him the man oozed class

I've been training down for about 35 years now. Think that'll be okay..?
Actually, on reading about Butch, I must have completely missed that his heart problems had been well known and treated for years including a triple bypass last year. Still a dreadful shame. Another reminder to make the most of every day.
I saw the Nigel Quashie story earlier. Lovely story about a classy guy...

We're all a bit fragile Rod, we all have an itch to scratch, when it comes down to it. Some people get enough support from those around them, but others turn to drink or other comforts. Its may be all in your head but what do you do? That's the problem with brains. They have a mind of their own.
