If I have one major criticism, its that mowbray has never brought in a route one option. Where's our bean pole upfront, they're all midgets! Even Chris brown would do it..

the best striker at this level for holding the ball up and bringing in others is Danny Graham.
And I've pretty much seen every striker twice now.

He's not that great the last 10 mins when chasing a game, considering he's very rarely on the pitch by that stage.

There should be a long ball option. We clearly lack that.

Maybe so saxo and I genuinely thought nuttall might be the man for that role
At Oxford he looked sharp and useful at the direct route and at hold up play too sadly he has fallen down the pecking order with Mowbray.

I just don't think mowbray wishes to use that option, ever. I can appreciate footballing principles, but to completely refuse a direct option is folly in my opinion.

Its my belief that if your midfield isn't working, and your not playing well as a team, you go route one and look for the knock downs.

A perfectly reasonable option, Saxo. The problem is, we would probably have had to sign an extra player like that, and he wouldn't have got much game time.
I would have liked to see Nuttall given the last 20 minutes more often because he is the most natural replacement for Graham. Even he isn't really the strong, tall target-man you are asking for, though. He's 5' 10" and 72 kg. So it would have required another transfer in.
I do agree, though, that Mowbray clearly prefers the ball on the ground.
