Btw is it ok for vegans to use products containing palm oil?
This article is quite well balanced for anyone interested:

In short, replacing the meat industry with a plant based food industry wouldn't solve the environment issues we face, but it would be a huge step...

Well not sure on huge. A plant disease ie like Dutch elm disease in trees would severely knock food production.

For example we eat one variety of banana, s problem problem with that variety would be catastrophic.

Another problem with most vegans, vegetarians and tree huggers in general is that they are opposed to using GM crops, herbicides and pesticides, all three of these would be needed to grow enough crops to support a no meat culture.

Natural controls would result in massive drop in production resulting in shortages.

The number of farting animals is roughly the same as it has always been so in terms of a the causation between animals and climate change its a red herring. The issue is with population growth, more people on the planet less space to grow stuff and animal food takes a considerable amount of land when compared to plant based crops. i would beware of any single issue when talking about environmentalism and climate change and animals provide a useful feature in fertilisation. Pesticides create more problems than they solve but probably GM crops have a place if we can get out heads round it. or sure.
I find it interesting how this article looked at an environment conscious footy club and we are all talking about one element Veganism.

That's the whole point of your link isn't it ?
To be more self sufficient and cost effective.
Other clubs ought to be looking at going down the same route.

No it's not, it's about a few vegan zealots preaching to others about their personal preferences.

I don't have any desire to go around telling everybody " by the way I'm an omnivore"

Sorry, have I missed something? Who are these "vegan zealots preaching to others"?? Where are their posts? I can't find one vegan on here preaching. If you're referring to me, how is sharing a quite well balanced article (neither pro or anti vegan) in response to a topic brought up by you 'preaching'??

You've not missed anything raging. It's just one of our "characters" on another wind up mission. You'll get used to it.
