I know what you are saying mate but I'm kind of thinking as a league one club we aren't quite as attractive a proposition for an experienced coach with a solid track record just now .

I'm seriously concerned some French dude is going to get the gig .

Its a NO from me Animal, as this kid Carrick knows nothing about the Efl. We can't afford to be messing about with another appalling gamble like Jose was. (but admittedly, he can't be any worse than Jose was can he)

Tell you how I see it bankend mate .

Carrick walks into Oakwell and immediately he commands the respect of this young squad based on his statue and playing career .

He's played under some top managers and coaches and it stands to sense he's picked up a trick or two along the way .

He's fresh and will probably be very enthusiastic on gaining a HC role .

He will be ambitious to make a name for himself and comes across as a very level headed northern lad , something we like .

Some good media exposure and it gives the club some decent marketing , something the new owners are seeking .

    He's a gamble , but it's at a level we can cope with .

I'd be interested to find out where your expectations are set acido with regard to a new coach .

Which guy fits your criteria that we could reasonably be able to attract ?

Av always said good solid players of a certain ilk make for good managers. Good shart for me Animal. Its a road the club has taken thats given us our best success in the last 40 years. Clarke, Hunter, Wilson, Ritchie, Hecky- all rookies and good honest solid pro's who've commanded respect and each has given us a promotion.

We'll end up with a foreign unknown most likely. Goat hair ent a clue.

My choice is Mick McCarthy and if they ed owt abart em they'd push the boat art miles to get him in as MANAGER and give him licence to do his stuff. No chance o that happening I know but we'll never have a better opportunity to get him here than this. Clubs crying art for summat like this at this moment in time. Theres a lot of people who are losing interest

Id like a so called sensible appointment Animal, who knows more about this level of English footy. Thats why Im wondering now as to whether we should have stuck with Harsley after all, when Hecky left us.

As you so often point out Acido, Hecky didn't work out at this level did he Now you seem to want to repeat the process although I can appreciate your reasons, not for me

You've not answered the question acido , surely they must be someone leaping off the page who we can attract and fits your criteria ?

Just bear in mind that everytime the club's got promoted since 1978 all the people in charge were relatively rookies .
