Yes Cyclone Eddie was a bit of a joke - quite a few names from that era although I think he, like most of the above are 'incompetent' rather than 'hated'

Oh no I hated him. Whenever selected I almost felt like leaving the ground or wishing injury on him. Granted that attitude stemmed from his incompetence, but I never felt the same venom against Gary Theale who, except for a short 'golden period' was equally inept.

Fair go, I can feel the hate now.

Ah yes, Tealinho. What WAS that golden period all about?

Hard to say - it appeared from nowhere and, just as quickly, disappeared again back to palpable mediocrity.

Stern John was but one of a plethora of loanee "strikers" we have had that roved to be anything but. Graham was another and there were more.

Hales? I felt for the lad. His entire game was built around picking up knockdowns and flickons from his 6' 3" striking partner Flanagan and also using his blistering pace off the mark to chase through balls from the midfielders. What did we do? Stick a #9 on his back and expect him to play the John O'Hare target man role. That was never a part of his skill set. A career average of almost 1 in 2. Apart from us his worst period was when we sold him to West Ham and even there he got 10 in 23......... Blame the club, not the player in this case.

Gary Teale’s ‘golden period’...lasted about twenty five minutes didn’t it?

Thought Danny Graham was always unlucky MA...really put in a shift...another who seemed to do okay anywhere but Derby. Why does that happen so often?

Not least popular, but one of the most frustrating: NIGEL CALLAGHAN.

I quote from a Watford fan site, but the message could easily come from Derby

'...But he never completely won over the fans. Their loudly-voiced frustration with his apparently lazy play was surely a contributory factor in his ultimately disappointing career. With a bit more understanding from the supporters and with a bit more dedication from the player himself, he could have become an England legend. Instead he turns up on a Channel 4's late night "Sun, Sea and ***" programme trying to impress by putting a condom on his head.

You were better than that Nigel, a lot better.'

Connor Sammon was just as bad as Conor Doyle and Gary Teale was not that bad and was quite good at Derby, a good little asset if you will.
