Ffs Kendo, 35 years ago, mind that trip like yesterday, as a young dandy I did not fully appreciate the significance of it all......more interested in Swedish puntang......now older/wiser I look back with great fondness of how special that match was and indeed the whole campaign from my first euro jaunt to Sion in the qualifying round to getting off the train in Stoney 3 hours before we played Hibs in the last league game of the season.

We were very fortunate to have seen such a great achievement.

We were timed to arrive at Dyce 10 minutes before the team but, sadly, our flight was delayed by about 4 hours. :-(

A few teams have tried but the puckle o players from my neck of the woods and some homegrown from up here are indeed the last team to beat Real in a Euro final.

I remember sitting on the floor in the airport when the team went past to get their flight home.

Of course we missed the Union Street parade but that wasn't really a problem.

Sat in Ma Camerons that night smoking cigars.
We must have looked like we'd been to the game because folk were coming up and asking us about it.

I was only 11 months old, so obviously I don't remember. My dad had the whole game on VHS and would often watch it. I remember being around 4 or 5 the first time i watched it. I still watch it to this day and get goose bumps, so god knows what it must be like for those who were old enough to remember it. Its a shame that i will never get to witness in person, such an amazing achievement. Jealous of all you old f*ckers !!

First game I ever remember watching on telly as a kid. The commentary at the winning goal is unforgettable.
