Back in the day for us old foggies the FA Cup was one of a very few televised live games,of course we looked forward to it.

Nowadays live football games are rammed down your throats daily.

If you had to eat steak everyday you would soon tire of it.

The FA don't give FA about the Cup. If they did it would be a 3 p.m. kick off in line with tradition. Instead its shunted to late in the day and in some seasons happens before the last game of the season.

Scudamore and the Pig at the Premiership have killed the game off. Greedy Premiership clubs only see it as a last chance to get some silverware when all else has failed. Replays reduced to a minimum scratch teams and poor attendances as a result all add to its demise. If you qualified for the Champions League by winning the FA Cup then attitudes would soon change.

The tradition beens sacrificed for the big bucks when it didn't need to be. They bow down to the might of the Premiership and big clubs and let the competition be chipped away each year. They're not interested in the loyal fan you only have to look at the pathetic ticket allocation for finalists and the ridiculous pricing. The FA is supposed to be the custodians of English football yet they are run by a group of incompetent reactionary old farts who are only interested in lining their own pockets and not preserving and enhancing on the greatest cup competitIon in the World.

For the majority of fans in this country its becoming a dead competition as crowds dwindle at games year on year. The only hope is for the final to be shipped out to China for the world wide audience as its lost its appeal in this country.

I've always maintained winning the FA cup should give you the last champions league place there should be more kudos attached to winning the cup than finishing 4th. All the teams would take it seriously then no playing Man Utd reserves in the 3rd round full 1st team out at forest green that's what people want to see

Used to love the all day experience of cup final day I'd be glued to it all day,the final nail in the coffin was moving it from 3 o'clock I've got all on picking the remote up to turn it on now, never thought I'd see the day when that happened

Bit of a poor game that was,Man U too slow at getting the ball forward.

Phil Jones is going to get roasted at the WC,prefer Smalling to Jones although ne's not much better.

Dreadful game looked like attack v defence and defence won. Players looked half ars*d. It was so slow like watching an England game in the World Cup. You just knew Man United were never going to score and when the £89m man gets a free header 6 yards out he puts it wide . Mourinho has spent all that money and still plays two of the poorest centre backs in the premiership.

At least Jones won't be causing Southgate a headache selection. Kyle, Harry and Stones as the starting back three.
