Yes but then again you have to beat the so called best to be the best

    I think we’ll win anyway

    Disappointed final now won’t be a 1966 repeat 😂

Either of the options should be just as worried about facing us.

    Bring 'em on

I want us to win, if we are serious about winning the World Cup we have to be confident of beating the bigger teams.

Even though there seems to be a whole new attitude and approach under Southgate, I'd still worry the England of old would emerge if we ended up playing Sweden or Switzerland. Just turn up, easy game etc. Then end up looking like fools (Iceland all over again). Besides we have never beaten Sweden in a World Cup game (competition or qualifier). 4 games, 4 draws. That'd mean penalties if we kept that form.

So either way it's not a definite, bring on Brazil! Or Mexico!

I think this is a poor decision if we do 'want' to lose to be honest. Momemtum means a lot for me and Id rather see us keep it by beating or avoiding defeat at least against the Belgies.
As for the first knock out round, as it stands in the other games we'd be playing Senegal, and not Japan or the higher rated Colombia.

Edit: Theres a change in the other game now, and we are facing Colombia, with half an hour to go there!.

Columbia is a potential banana skin, we need to win the group and avoid them if at all possible.
No point looking beyond the next game.
Its a must win tonight....and Belgium will be thinking the same. Sets it up nicely.

I agree and now that its definitely Japan if we win the group, or definitely Colombia if we're second, I know who Id rather play out of those two and thats before I/we even start to think about the possible Qtrs.

Ridiculous amount of changes tbh, what are you doing Southgate ?.
Although the Belgies have made a similar 8/9 changes as well, so both teams clearly arent putting out their full strengh teams for whatever reason!.

One thing that annoys me about England it's this over use of the short ball from Pickford to the fullback stood two yards a way then the fullback gives it him back. Its very slow and does nothing apart from giving the opposition time to re- group.Oh and Jones is w@nk.
