I understand fully your reservations OC - I share many of them.

The game has changed out of all recognition financially and we are now at a crossroads.

We can continue with the same model which will guarantee that we will sink down the pyramid in the medium term and probably reach our level as a mid table championship team. When Sean goes, unless we are extremely lucky, this will happen pretty quickly.

If we embrace a major backer then it is fraught with danger but it CAN work out well. And, if we are considering it, then now is the perfect time. We must look attractive as an investment right now, and we are under no pressure to rush through any agreement - our finances are in very good shape at the moment.

Once we are out of the Prem then this chance may never happen again.

It's just the laws of the jungle OC - adapt or be also rans.

I never thought that I would be saying this kind of thing, but itis the harsh reality.

Burnley are not an attractive proposition for any foreign investors because we are a small town club and they are only really interested in large town or city clubs, at least, that is how I see it.
OC is correct in much of his observation and, whilst I am not against new owners coming into the club, I just can't see it happening.

Get real guys! Burnley has a population of just over 70,000 of which 25,000 don't like football, but love cricket!

To get 20,00 on the Turf every week is a fcuking miracle.

Let's try telling the Board they are doing a fcuking magnificent job, just for a change?

We do like to moan though BT.
To get 7th on £37m wages is another miracle.
But we could have been higher ... lol.
Seems the business model is working to me and picking up player around or below their TM value might be another master stroke.

His first line is referring to a club in a town of almost 200,000 and in a County with no other PL football club.
A Russian gets involved and then sells 25% of his share to a US Equity Company because he wants to expand the club.
It is not rocket science to see the potential when the population of the county of Dorset is well over 400,000 and there are possible wuite a number of people who would watch Bournemouth of the capacity was there.
We are a small town club, Bournemouth is a small club with rich owners who can see a way to make more money.
I am not against foreign investment, however, I was pointing out why we are not an attractive proposition and I stand by that view.

I am interested to know how bfcjon knows so much about the inner workings and thoughts of the board of Burnley Football Club.
