Both said in effect the Championship transfers have gone totally bonkers. Harris said even after their great run second half last season they couldnt improve their squad on their wage budget - even with the spin of a club pushing for promotion. Wages were totally out of their league. What realistic chance do we have without risking a boom bust business model?

Warne came over brilliantly by the way. A real credit to our club. Many wont appreciate his style. He says, in essense, the shouting type ranting and raving managers are a thing of the past. Modern managers have to do it differently. He says he wants to be the type of manager he would have wanted as a player. Looks like the guy has built deep respect and strong bonds throughout the squad based on real club and family values (if that is considered akin a green tea drinking sandal wearing group that I read on another thread then you have it totally wrong - this is the way football management is shifting).

He said our battle is with (I think he phrased it as) other incidental clubs. He wants us to win the battle of the lower league teams.

I hope he is allowed build a strong club based on these principles for many years whether we stay up or get relegated.
Totally agree mate, we must stay focussed and strong behind PW and TS, and not allow the naysayers to hold sway, they're already at it after one game

Can't see why pointing out obvious deficiencies is being a "naysayer"

    Criticism not allowed?

Even the naysayers as you call them (quaint phrase btw) want the best for the club.

Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.

Kinnell to think of that happening to us! WOW! That's sent a shiver down the spine!

Try getting the players focused while you're at it.
Young Zack Vyner on his debut was left exposed to 2 sometimes 3 attacking Brentford players.
Looking forward to some changes v Ipswich, minimum of 2 or 3.

Well, i think every fan can see the 'obvious deficiencies' the difference is that the majority of fans can accept those deficiencies without going way over the top with slagging the team off, i've read it on here and other social media, it's quite pathetic after one game in am obviously very difficult league.

How many expected us to win at Brentford, really?

5-1 is a thumping in anyone's book, not disagreeing with that, but criticism has to come with context doesn't it?

Leo Durocher....the Steve Evans of baseball.

We tried the belligerent "in your face" Evans way and look where that got us.....pretty much the same place as we've got to with Warne. PW's view of the football world is polar opposite to Evans. Whether it is sustainable/successful in an increasingly competitive Championship remains to be seen. One thing is for sure, there's a much healthier feeling around the club. It feels a better thing to be associated with and there feels more substance to it.

Making sweeping judgements after just one game is very naive.

I agree to some extent that he was left exposed, but his ball control and passing (basic skills) were poor too. Let's hope that it was a one-off bad day
