Thread: The Art of Winning Ugly

  1. #11
Please remember Alto when TEC edits the articles he has to put an headline on that will get some attention on social media.

One respected journo thought it was the headline of the week and sums Burnley up perfectly.

I'll happily finish 7th again playing ugly football, because after all, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder!

I believe we have got the attention of all media in that we are very poor, Claret fans are seemingly keeping the faith with team and Dyche overall but if performances don't improve it will wane.

Who's your respected journo as I don't believe there are many about, and if he/she believes that after the Cardiff game then for me its lazy journalism.

Finish 7th again ? Keep dreaming BT, as I've told you before if you are happy watching poor Football just to stay in the PL then that's your cup of tea but its not mine as its embarrassing, and with all due respect your beauty comment is out of context.

The headline that best summed the game up for me was in the Mail, "If Cardiff can lose to this lot, they're dead and buried."

I see beauty in an England goalkeeper performing his art, I see beauty in hordes of Clarets fans taking the rip and having a great day out, I see beauty in an old fashioned winger plying his trade, so I don't think I am writing out of context at all.

These teams we keep beating are not just going to lie down and watch us play them off the park. I don't care about Burnley being unable to play like Barcelona, I care about us doing enough to survive in the EPL.

When I want to watch the beautiful game played in all it's glory, I will nip down to Madrid and watch a billion quidsworth of footballing genius. For now, bring on the Terriers!

lets hope - we keep winning ugly - cos as of now, it's about the last vestige of fortune Burnley have....3rd consecutive season in the Prem, players on tens of thousands a week - and playing like clod headed simpletons - and it isn't all down to the players - Dyche has to take his share of the blame - and please.... enough of those lamebrain soundbites.

There is a balance i think and your right to a point in that we are closer to the negative side than open football.
I think a lot would moan more if we lost every week. ( whatever the football style was )
Im a happy bunny Army, seeing us take all three points after a performance like that..Its because I've been used to watching the best Clarets sides play great attacking football over the years and not all this negative hoofball stuff we saw on Sunday.. I'm sure we will improve our play over the season .. in Dyche we trust ..
