    Steve Cotteril was appointed on 23rd Feb 2010 (I’d forgotten it was that late, thought more Jan) so his first six games were;

    Hereford (H) Won 5-0
    Macclesfield (H) Won 1-0
    Accrington (A) Won 3-0
    Chesterfield (H) Won 1-0
    Bournemouth (H) Drew 2-2
    Crewe (A) Won 1-0

    P6, W5, D1, L0, GF13, GA2, GD+11, Pts 16

    16 points from 18 available!! Five clean sheets as well!

    Whilst it’s the same as Curle for points it must be the best start a Notts manager has ever had due to the clean sheets and goal difference? It’s mighty impressive and will take some beating!!

    I'd say Curle's is more impressive, given that he didn't have by far the best team in the division at the time. Cotterill did a great job, but we should have been winning most games anyway with Hughes, Davies, Kasper et al. Curle must go down as the most unfairly treated manager I can remember. And it just goes to show that the old 'I'm happy as long as we're picking up points' thing is *******s.

    It's a lot easier to come in and hit the ground running when the team has been doing alright. When Curle arrived we'd won two of the previous three, lost only 1 of the previous five and we were 11th with a positive feeling still surrounding the club. Cotterill took over with us in the play offs and having lost 1 of the previous 7 and a god squad.

    Contrast that with Allen and Nolan who arrived during record breaking losing streaks. Kewell too of course came in on another bad losing run. So you could say Kewell has been the most impressive in context.

    Fullarton and Kiwomya both took over with the club not in any danger and started OK but soon left us in the $h!t. Moniz had the most disastrous start of all because it was his start that got us relegated to where we are now, though to be fair that relegation was largely down to other people.

    From what I have seen and heard so far, Kewell has been the most impressive. The team were afoot at the bottom of L2, 1 point. Not only are the results impressive, but the way he has gone about it and the way he conducts himself. Seems very much in control and able to change things.

    I think yesterday playing Brisley as he did was really good. It shows he looks at each game individually and is willing to try different things. He had loads of midfielders who he could have brought in, but went for something totally different.

    I know it's early days, but I have been impressed.

    I like Curle and was willing to stand by him and his tactics for longer than a lot of Notts fans did but when he brought Hamza Bencherif off the bench to play up front with Showumni warming up on the sideline too I kinda gave up on him.

    He did a lot of things wrong in terms of endearing himself to the fans, but if any of us had known the years of clueless appointments that would follow his sacking, we'd have been begging Trew to keep him around!
