I listen to some of the Novara Media (of which Bastani is a founder) podcasts and they're generally well informed and thought-provoking.

Bastani's own show is more of a lefty Infowars-style rant about the topics of the day - less thought-provoking and more just... provoking. The point he was making about 13,000 homeless veterans is valid though. How has that been allowed to happen? How can so many fall through the cracks when there is so much money donated to help them? Surely THAT is the scandal here?

Also - lol at the DM crowbarring Corbyn into the story.

Approx £51m a year spent on supporting veterans through the Royal British Legion. Poppy sales fall approx £18m short of that figure, which is made up by other charity events held by the legion and associated charities and business partners.

13,000 homeless veterans does not mean 13,000 veterans sleeping rough. Most of those 13,000 will be in temporary accommodation funded by the Royal British Legion with many of them benefiting from additional welfare support also funded by the Legions charities.

No scandal here, just some pathetic anti establishment twit doing his best to discredit the thousands of people who give their free time to do as much as they can for a very good cause!

Which is why this country in such a state, total lack of leadership, intelligence, understanding and strategic cohesion from people in jobs beyond their capabilities in every political aspect regardless of whether you’re left, right, liberal, centrist or whatever … absolute shambles.
