hes still imo one of the squads weakest senior players, however, he is having his best ever season in a leeds shirt, so fair play to him for his efforts
Let's hope he doesn't read the ****e posted here, just helped 2 young debutants in defence make a clean start, tho shouldn't be expecting any encouragement from you for players, if they've played crap in the past their always crap aren't they? Presently he's in our first eleven, so should be encouraged to keep up his good form
One swallow doesn't make a summer......he was cr4p last season, he is by some measure the most significant risk in the current 1st eleven, simply by the very nature of where he is expected to perform, at the heart of the centre back squad. Others (e.g. Alioski), can be criticised and have been, but they aren't pivotal to our defence. Cooper is and also as team captain he should be doing more than shepherding two newbies in one match. Can you seriously suggest he acts as either figurehead, motivator or the rock in defence?
And if he reads any posts here (which I seriously doubt), if the reading gives him a kick up the ar5e, so much the better.
He is something of a conundrum. At times he is clumsy, ponderous and some of his challenges are 'agricultural'; verging on reckless. His distribution can vary more than a Tory Cabinet Minister's stance on Brexit - one minute it's heart in the mouth time as he meanders out of defence and plays a square ball to the opposing centre forward; the next he's sweeping a left footed long ball out to the right wing with accuracy that can only be described as unerring. Despite his faults (and they are legion) he is a wholehearted player who always seems to give his best (however poor that may sometimes be) to the cause. As mentioned he seems to have some modicum of leadership qualities and has certainly provided a level of stability during turbulent times in the midst of a rapidly deteriorating defensive injury crisis. Is he brilliant? No. Am I (most of the time) glad that we have him at least for the moment? Yes.

Anyone know his wages?
Suspect he's more than passable for the wage structure he's at. The money game rather sucks but it's part of the equation in the championship.
He's also pretty durable. that's a big plus in this league with the number of games played.
