I think most of us of an age had a Hopalong Cassidy watch for Xmas. I did. Subbuteo was also a favourite. Mind you, you had to send off for an extra set if you wanted blue and white stripes as the original teams were always plain blue and plain red. Happy memories!

I didn't remember it being called that either to be honest, but then I couldn't remember what we did call it so it may have been.

Just knew the game from your description and remembered it being more fun than it looks all of these years later .

Subbutteo must be the most overrated game of all time, flicking a player at a ball and a goal that wouldn’t stay in place!

    Striker was much more realistic.

I also remember having a johnny 7 gun it was a bad ass piece of kit back in the day. Also a a game called Crossfire where you shot ballbearings at a puck. As kids we played it for hours until we got blisters on our fingers. How did I forget Action Man. I had the deep sea diver which I plunged into the bath and got ruined.

Striker was ace until we would break their heads off being overenthusiastic

Only had a white one Q. Remember using a hot knife on it to melt the plastic and smooth over the hole when it got punctured!
