lost for the right words to say.

i hope you enjoy every second that you have and it sounds like you have a great family to share that time with and your approach to life should be a great source of inspiration and I am sure you will have given and continue to give them many great memories to cherish.

All the best for wringing every drop you can out of 2019.

Thank you T-bird for taking the time to find special time in writing such inspirational words.

Many, many folks will read this from many places who pop in to read this Board including members of my family. Those that have 'battles' with serious illness often feel isolated and alone so I really admire you for expressing such inner emotions and the importance of family, time and perspective to us all.

My younger son always admired your Avator for the record & my elder son too over the years.

I and my family are proud, privileged to have read your many contributions over the years and our thoughts are with you.

Please take care mate, let us all know about the LEEDS games. I know every single poster/reader on mad will be with you.

Just when I was looking forward to a bright start to 2019 for all us Leeds followers, you've knocked me for six, Mark. I currently have an Uncle going through the same thing, but he was exposed to asbestos, being a builder all his life. I can only echo the thoughts of others previously spoken here, and my very best wishes are with you during this difficult period. I sincerely hope you do get to Oz to witness your beloved Leeds live. I've had to place this opportunity on the backburner now as my daughter looks like moving home to Dublin around June/July...and I'm really disappointed now, as I certainly would have looked at the chance of catching up with yourself and any others that may be attending. But...you have just lifted my confidence that this is going to be our season mate. It is meant to be for you...just so you can see them back in the PL.

These things always seem to happen to the BEST of us Mark, and that you are. Great attitude though, life is for living. Some leave a bigger legacy than others, and it seems you have raised a wonderful family that you can be immensly proud of.Looking forward to your future posts, and lets hope LUFC give us a season to celebrate. mot

Thank you all for your lovely and heartfelt replies.....I have read them all over and over again and they truly mean a lot to me....I have shed many tears over the past few months and today was no exception. After I posted my post today, the extended medical team all wanted to talk with me.....I now have an appointment with the oncologist tomorrow, chemo next week, an appointment with the community nurse later this week to talk about counselling and other matters such as hospice care and an appointment with care minders to start looking after my mother when I'm no longer capable of doing it. I guess reality is slowly starting to unfold. It is rather surreal, walking around with no real ill effects but knowing that something is going to happen in the next few weeks/months. Nonetheless, there is still plenty of time left to enjoy myself and my youngest son and I went out this evening to watch Spiderman:Into the Spider Verse and have dinner (yes, me and the boys are all sci-fi addicts!!) and we thoroughly enjoyed the night out together. A good win this weekend will be just the tonic we all need and to remind everyone that we're going to win the league

Terrible news matey. Currently watching my brother-in-law's life ebb away caused by his second Grade 4 glioblastoma (nastiest brain tumour). He's apparently one of only two people in UK to have a second (Grade 4) operation. 2 now removed. Man is now on the slips. Terrible disease. You would think they would have had the 'big C' nailed by now. Bets of luck Mark. Hope the remainder of your time is as good as can be and filled with the best things possible in the circumstances.
