In the 70’s we played on awful pitches including the Hawthorns, the season lasted 42 matches and the medical side was medieval compared to now.

We finished 3rd in the top division with most of the first team playing all 42 matches,I think we used a total of 14/15 players all season, most reserves were lucky to get 2/3 games.

Nobody looked or complained of being tired and if you look at the old footage we really moved at speed as a team.

Players are now “tired” because they’re brainwashed into believing they must be.

None of this bollox either with the three officials doing stretch ups and knees to the chest ( warm ups ) in the good old days. My father-in-law nearly pissed himself laughing when he came to a recent match as he recalled those yester years. He also made a good point and said " if they are going to ponce around, why does the 4th official not join in and what would happen if he was needed therefore with no exercise".

Then you get Livermore who gets tired on 50 grand a week and been forever tired since coming back after sitting a four match ban. Brian Clough would kick the fecker up the arse and he would soon get a sprint on then!

Totally agree, only one sub allowed as well, quagmire pitches one minute then grass less rock hard ones the next, these poor little tired out lambs don't know they are born, tired out my Arse, get on the pitch and show some steel instead of poncing around playing backwards and sideways.
