Games in hand are not points in the bag though. I guess there's a small chance the pressure might get to them. Argh, it's the hope that kills you!

The league has been over for weeks imo. We must keep winning to secure second place and I think we can do it via the playoffs.

I suspect we’ve left ourselves far too much to do but a win tonight would give us a slim chance.

Based on rest of season, County will pick up required points and even a draw would suit them when we travel to Dingwall.

Regardless, this season is still our best chance of promotion since we were relegated. 2nd will be our highest finish and avoids that 2 leg scrap in the 3rd v 4th play off which although we successfully negotiated it in last 2 seasons, it caught up with us later on.

yep, getting a winning mentality is what is important for the play offs.....if we manage to get ourselves in a position where we can win the league, then so be it.

Pressure getting to them you say ??? Hope so but consider this...since beating Alloa in November we have won 7 league goals with a goal difference in these games of exactly + 7 to us. Now having no really convincing win in that time can only bring pressure

2 things make me doubt our chances of winning the league:

    1. Our form is pretty unconvincing. We've scraped a couple of wins recently, but you always get that nagging feeling that it only takes a team to press us and pepper our keeper with crosses for them to get a win. We're certainly not going to out-score anyone!

    2. County still look pretty steady, despite losing to us. I reckon they'll be able to grind out enough points from their games in hand to see them through.

Still possible in the play-offs, but we all know how tough that will be, even if we finish second. We really need to get our attacking players firing to have a chance of going up this season, over to you Robbie...

sadly wont get to game tonight due to working normally like dunfermline away.

It would be a massive boost if we could get the win! we all know County still have the games in hand and look steady enough to win those games but its just about momentum for us imo. remember about a week and 1/2 ago there was a serious chance that county could have been 14pts ahead of us before we played them but win tomorrow and its down to 2points!

i dont think united will win the league but 11pts down to 2pts will put serious pressure on County esp if we managed to go up there and win in a few weeks time. everyone has something to play for which will go against us but could go for us if we manage to get some consistency!

Lets hope for one we do the business tonight! itll be a big result.
    My team would be
    Benji
    Seaman bouhenna reynolds booth
    Butcher Harkes
    McMullan Pawlett Robson
    Clark

benji- having seen a few reserve games laidlaw doesnt look much better and if he cant cut out his crossing antics then benjis decent enough imo.
Seaman in for watson just assuming game will come around too quick to recover from saturday for watson
harkes in for stanton as stanton looked tired and wasnt great.
Pawlett done well on saturday when he was no.10 and not a winger so with smith being similar to watson in terms of maybe too quick turnaround then let pawlett on in there.
use safranco as impact but wouldnt be surprised if he does start (wouldnt be against it tbh)

I know weve played alot of games in a short space of time but dunfermline havent played in a wee while so they might be rusty (i hope so anyways)

    Head- 1-0 pars
    heart- 1-2 united!

Although i agree about the likely let down, part of our destiny is in our own hands, and both teams have plenty of potential slip ups to come.

We are dealing with our fixture log jam, RC still have theirs to come with an arguably more difficult run!

The thing is it's not a few weeks time. Its a week on Friday. Theoretically, there is a scenario where we were risking going 14 points behind last Tuesday to being 4 points ahead come 2130 next Friday.

    Theoretically speaking.
