Rross, I think you and a few others on here are the only ones who have been arguing that OAP's should pay more. I think there might well be a sound financial reason why your arguments make sense but calling people idiots won't help you to win the argument.

My feeling is that football is expensive and the reason we charge so much is because we have expenses that are too high in relation to the current levels of income, we need to play more games at Dens by having much better performances in the cup competitions and finally a cost free criticism, we need to have much better communications with our supporters.

You have consistently argued that our fan base is old and getting older. The sales of ST's and PATG can surely be analysed by the club. I would hope that FPS realise that if they want to increase the numbers of supporters then they need to breakdown their financial information into numbers of tickets bought by the different age groups, and pursue different strategies to maximise the numbers in the different age groups.

My only suggestion is that there should be lower prices for the SE in the hope that it would sell out and so stop the problem of PATG moans for that stand.

I would charge more for OAP's but I'd do it as a price freeze for them and have tweaks on the pricing, downwards, for the full price ST's and PATG and the young who are not able to be part of a family deal.

The paradox of football at dens is the worse it is the more we have to pay to watch it as crowds dwindle but expenses don’t.
The city doesn’t have enough people with enough disposable income to support 2 top level teams and that’s a reality. In any other business sphere we’d currently be trying to buy the competition to remove them from our market, gaining new customers as a result. Football though isn’t that simple

Good Luck with that suggestion! Agree about the commercial analogy but as you say football isn't that simple. Just have to hope that FPS exit strategy isn't that they sell to our neighbours because that is the only way they will get any money back and our neighbours are still trying to win promotion? Reverse takeover sort of!

They don’t need to get money back? They’re writing losses off against other profits so they’ll not be too bothered

Can we not just lower the prices and reduce the playing budget?
Make the matches more affordable to families and get rid of crazy patg prices.

BCram, you mention cup revenue, very good point, I wonder how much money we have missed out on in the last 15 years with poor cup runs, I know it would be hard to put a figure on it, but I’d take a guess at a club our size with the budget we pay, you’d expect quite a few semi finals and even a couple of finals in these years ( forgetting admins ) I’d guess at a figure of around £10 - £12 million, we would probably have avoided at least admin 2
