It really is a beautiful area Wrinkly but I work in the city and the images you see in that clip are what I see every day. Don't know if you watched as far as where they spoke to the tourists but they were gobsmacked that nothing was being done about it. If you want to visit then Bellevue, a city the same size as Seattle and just 3 miles across Lake Washington, a 15 minute car/bus ride away, is a much nicer place to stay and has none of the issues (but it's also expensive). If you're on a budget, as you see they don't object to you pitching your tent just about anywhere in Seattle, sidewalks, grass verges, shop doorways, freeway underpasses. I'm about 20 miles out of Seattle but have land and trees so I'm sure you could get Mrs Wrinkly to knock you up a log cabin if you want. I can supply the chainsaw
PS Fly to Vancouver and do the Amtrak Cascades down through Seattle and on to Portland or like Brin did, take a cruise to Alaska from Vancouver or Seattle.
