I definitely think there is a place for this type of education but would probably agree with a few others that I'd see it being taught a bit later in the curriculum. I used to work with a guy who had suffered from depression and after he left it transpired he was struggling to cope with transgender issues which led to him attempting suicide. It always reminds me that some people are what they are and don't choose it so acceptance of others is IMO a key thing in society. I'm straight, I also don't see the need for Gay Pride etc but acceptance I think is key.

Where this protest at the school concerns me, if you take a kid out of school to go on holiday you get a fine. Some of these kids have missed countless time off school and there seems to be no comeback on the parents. Even the mediator has said the government need to grow a pair. I suspect that as 68 pointed out, the content is very tame and reasonable of what these kids are seeing and I wonder if its all the proverbial red herring? According to reports this protest appears to be driven by hard-line followers of Islam several who do not have kids at the school and who clearly have a view on non-traditional relationships so I'm not sure whether protests against the age of these kids are just a smokescreen for banning this part of the curriculum at schools with a very high Muslim count. I think some of these people have to accept they must live according to UK laws where respect and tolerance are cornerstones of our society. I think the answer is that if you can't accept it then go to a country that adopt your beliefs as law. The light handed inconsistent approach does smack of PC to me just as the events in the child grooming scandal were proven to be.

These protesting homophobic c???? Should I been stopped from outside this school weeks ago, but as usual Birmingham Council dither and do fooook all when they can get a court order creating a exclusion area.

Has anybody seen some of the signs some these b astards hold up like the usual "it's Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve".

The leader of the the protest hasn't even got any kids at that school.

Albionic is spot on with his post. The school is only trying to teach some people are different and some children have 2 dad's and others 2 mothers.

As far as I know they don't show 2 Ken dolls bu mming each other or anything equally gay inspiring.

Everyone to their own but surely Adam and Eve should be priority as opposed to confusing very young minds!
