Spot on, pointless playing Clark there, C Smith is much more mobile and natural in that position
i think cammy smith is the creative player weve been crying out for. someone who can play a pass, score a goal and can cause problems by being able to receive in tight areas or pockets of space inbetween opponents midfield and defence.
i like clark but i dont like him as a no.10 hes not mobile enough plus it takes him away from his strengths. clark should be played in a two.
the only other natural player i reckon we have for a no.10 is pawlett. his best games for us have been when hes being off the front. dont care what anyone says hes not a winger. he can play wide and make an impact every now and then but we get more out of him if hes in a no.10 position. (also where he played his best for aberdeen)
I agree with all that Darren.
If he persists with 4-2-3-1 then all day any set of wingers paired up will run round us like they do so often, we need width in defence and attack. With such a narrow profile it lacks wide cover, when players move over to cover it creates too much space elsewhere and the CD of Reynolds and Connolly are exposed far too often in the air.
You'd think we conceded loads of goals reading that, which isn't true.
I disagree. I think the fact all players won't be as match sharp means that this is a leveller and is advantageous to the lower league clubs. I feel the number of 'odd' results backs this up.
East Fife are a part time team they had players working the night shift Monday or the day shift Tuesday then had to travel to Tannadice to play a team in a higher division who had rested up for the match. To say it was a level playing field is not true.
