That would be the best scenario for both the club and the player, best of luck to him

    Was he ever AT Notts?
He's been the Phantom of Meadow Lane for the past year as far as I'm concerned, a complete waste of a squad number.

Kellet and Patching wasted pre season. We had no squad at all both had game time and both looked poor, they made it easy for Ardley to dismiss them.
Compare their pre-season to Kelly Evans and McCrory who just looked eager and gave it their best shot.

This one has made Red Issue, the Man United board. They are wondering why the hell 'on 2 February 2015, transfer deadline day, Manchester United beat off competition from Plymouth to sign Kellett on loan for the rest of the season'.

And 'competition from Plymouth', that's the kind of thing Notts would say. Or would have said, once.

I’m purely speculating here as I’m wondering if Kellett was the one who would not go out on loan?

The reason is that was it was reported in the NEP early this month that the club would allow Patching, Kellet and Crawford go out on loan to get game time.

Patching has since gone, now Kellett which just leaves Crawford out of the trio left.

Kellett looked a useful player to me, but the fact is that three different managers seemed to regard him as an absolute last resort, including the one who signed him. In which case the question is, has this club finally learned to stop signing players who are seen as being so bad, or unfit, that they rarely if ever challenge for first-team selection?

For a club of our size and limited budget, we've carried far too many of these deadwood types in recent years. Yes I know not every player can be in the first team all the time, but when managers would rather play others out of position than play someone like Kellett in his natural position(s), something has to be wrong with recruitment. Something has to be learned from such mistakes.

I think Nolan would have used him more had he been fit earlier (which is probably the story of his career here), the first time he seemed to be available was the game against Lincoln where he was the only player that put a shift in at all. Nolan was then sacked.

Good job Hardy decided we didn't need Marc Bola because Dan Jones and Andy Kellett would be more than enough... Then quickly agreed to bring in Evina

Anyone know what's going on with Tootle these days? Is he injured or just not in the manager's plans? If the latter, he should really be moved on as well. It's a shame as you'd think he'd be a pretty decent RB at this level.

Tootle showed in Nolan's first full season that he can be a really good player, and even half of that player would be good enough for the league we're in now. Connell Rawlinson and Mitch Rose can fill in when necessary, and Kelly-Evans looks like a good understudy, but if Tootle is anywhere near physically and mentally fit he should be first choice. Either there's something going on with him that can't be revealed or the manager's judgement of the best option in that particular position is just plain wrong.

Agree. If he's fit, Tootle should be in the team or gone from the club. Paying him a wage and not using him is bizarre.
