This spreadsheet theory and the idea that we must be self reliable and not get into debts etc, its all well in principle. But surely not when it's stopping us moving forward, and merely keeping us stale all the time.
The club have always faced challenges when key players moved on but the difference is they didn't hamstring themselves by recruiting on a under 24 policy .

I'm not suggesting the recruitment was like for like by any means but it was good enough to retain our second tier status .

The likes of Mark Smith and Mal Shotton came in to add the necessary to the defence in days gone by , they weren't world beaters but as a group of supporters we've haven't ever expected top notch quality

    Do us a job .

The club have moved away at this level from what could be regarded as doing what they could with limited resources and swapping it for Fools Gold .

Come January players like Woodrow will be that p1ssed off that they will demand a move.
Job done. That gives them the green light to sell.
The better players can't be enjoying this any more than the fans.

You mention Mark Smith there Animal. Now he was knocking on a bit but at least he (and Mal Shotton) were good honest pro's who put a shift in.
Remember Smith carrying on in a game with a bloo*died head bandage, after getting an elbow or two against Plymouth ?.

Was the under 23/24 policy Mr Cryne's idea to start with ?. It's a disgracefully selfish idea to refuse to sign a decent 26-28 year old for example, just because he won't line anybody's pockets with a possible future sell on clause.

I've criticised John Dennis for what happened in 2001!!, but I agree there's no way in hell he'd be running us right now just for mere profit alone.

Matty Pearson and Adam Jackson were let go because they were thought not good enough but they’re light years ahead of what we have at the moment. I’ve just watch yesterday’s goal and our defense is none existent.

There’s nothing we can do recruitment wise but why can’t we bring in a top defensive coach?

I don’t necessarily think they’re bad players but they’re totally naive and need some guidance in the art of defending.

You can't teach consistency or experience unfortunately.
I'm sure they've all got ability and when they all click we can beat Fulham.
I've played in teams with very little goal threat and when you go a goal down you feel there's little chance of getting back into the game.
Yesterday we scored from a corner and created nothing else.
Against Leeds, Brentford & Derby we were the best team for 30 minutes.
Yesterday even though we were level at half time we never looked like scoring, and looked like conceding every time they attacked.
TV can't show how bad we were, they missed numerous sitters and we were very lucky to get away with 5.

The two interviews on Tykes TV by Steve and Luke summed it up. They spoke from the heart.
Crying out for some experience, and it looks like we have missed out on 38 year old Gareth Barry who was released by WBA in the summer, but allowed him to continue to train at the club until he found another club. Guess what, they are resigning him. He could have done a job for us with those kids

I'm a big fan of Tykes tv the two Lukes Steve etc but it's only a short while ago they were up the arses of Conway & co when they were like kids in a sweet shop, fawning over the Yankee no mark & taking in all he said like sponges
Think on boys if & when you're invited again to do their PR for them I have to say the spectacle was cringeworthy

Im also a big fan of the Tyke Tv lads, they make me laugh and at times they annoy me, but they are always worth a good listen to.
Thats maybe a bit unfair Exile because bear in mind when a so called superstar comes to you and says they want to give you an exclusive interview etc... you know your going to have to kiss a bit of ar*se and say what they want you to say.
