Agreed we dont do the basics right our passing all season has been poor. We don't open up defences. We are a team based on Warney as a player we will run about a lot and try hard but we don't have much finesse just like him as a player. Playing like this will get us so far but it wont take us to dizzying heights. I suspect as well a mid table finish this year.

Quite a few opposition goals seem to come from fouls on Wiles that the ref doesn't give, then our players switch off and don't play to the whistle. Maybe not a problem against weaker teams, who will squander their chances, but the better ones in this division will punish us. I worry about Olasundse's defensive capabilities. He is good in possession, but also doesn't mark tightly enough, and makes the odd error. He would probably better as a wing-back in a 3-5-2 .Reminds me of Zeki Fryers, but at least with him we had Captain Morgan and Arnie there to mop up the danger

Thought Oxford were a bit average but we weren't even that today.
Olusunde and Ihekwe were great and the rest were, obviously below average.

Putting aside the poor officials, we didn’t deserve to draw let alone win.

Oxford passed the ball better, tackled better and were generally more aggressive than us

We looked like we were running through treacle, our passing was second rate and we were, well just “too nice”

Set piece delivery is still poor, particularly corners.

The defence is still looking poor, poor closing down for the first, and smallest bloke on the pitch scores from a header with three of our players surrounding him.

Hard to pick any positives out of that performance

Lost to a better team today, better effort, better tactics and more nous. I'll not say better players because we have some good players who ought to be worrying teams in this division. Oxford were organised solid and played some good football, their left winger was the best player I've seen this season. Our midfield is poor, Warne needs to get it sorted, the experiment of playing Crooks behind Smith was a one trick pony against Coventry it didn't work last week and it certainly flopped today. We were playing 4 2 4 today whatever Warne tries to say, and that meant we only had Lindsey in the middle of the park as Barlaser is a waste of a shirt. Robertson has served his penance after Bristol and now needs to comeback for Wood.
Iversen. Radio Dee Dah reckon he should have got the second but I do know that without him we would have had a drubbing today.
Olosunde. Second poor game on spin admittedly against a good player, at fault for their first. Good management would have known how they play and played Jones.
Mattock. Wasn't brilliant but wasn't that poor either.
Ihiekwe. Rightly MOM, I'll chip in a couple of Bob to get him signed on longer
Wood got caught a couple of times and dropped us in it in second half, luckily Lindsey got back to cover, back to bench for me and restore Robertson.
Lindsey. Poor lads on his own in the middle of the park, he breaks play down well but has no support.
Barlaser. Full of skill we never see, doesn't get stuck in and gets nudged of too easily, he his a passenger we can't afford, needs to go back in January and be replaced by someone who contributes.
Wiles. Wasted out wide, if we're playing like today then we might as well play a winger. Terrible corners. Needs to be in midfield.
Hasty. We must gave ruined the lad. Another mediocre game well below the standard he showed on his debut.
Crooks. Waste of space today, strolled about, wanted too much time on the ball and almost always ended up losing it. Played too far forward leaving midfield exposed.
Smith. Won nothing at all, their back 2 played him better than anyone I've seen.
I thought that after last week's battling rearguard victory we could go on a run but today we have been brought back down to earth.
As a footnote why are we trying to walk it in. Have a shot lads

I think in Warne’s World the word shot is a banned four letter word

The team are a reflection of the manager.
You really want them to do well but deep down you know that they aren’t good enough.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the nicest team of all?

What an excellent team Oxford were.

The one thing we know for certain today is that one of those teams on the pitch will get automatic promotion this year.

Simple to see the problem today. Crooks, wiles and barlaser had bad games. In this league you can carry one possibility two but not when there the main midfield.
1 point Vs Ipswich would be welcome atm
