We do not have any 'Premiership' footballers as indivuduals. We work well as a unit (Group) and manage to make it awkward. But.. We do not have a 'Gamechanger'.
The last two games have been a poor advert for premeirship football. We are playing like it is our first season in the Premiership and just been promoted from a 'Lower' league. It is depressing to think that any of the Top 6 in the Champoinship could beat us... It shouldn't be like that.
Burnley FC are not playing football to the standards expected in the Premier League.

If Wood had hit the target from 5 yards out we would have won that game. If McNeil had not been caught playing silly beggars we would have had a point. Fine margins indeed!

Works both ways this fine margin malarkey.

If we hadn't got the corner against Newcastle we would probably have dropped two points.

Same with JRod last week - the ball hit him in the neck and went in.

Trouble for us is that £80M players are probably better at their job than £10M players. So if Kane/Salah/Aguero get a chance they are more likely to score than Wood/Barnes/JRod. The same applies all over the park with midfielders and defenders.

In the circumstances we are doing bloody well.

It's all ifs and buts..It's a question of if we survive this season, but will we survive this season.. We look bloody awful, but manage to grind out enough wins to survive.. It's really tight at the bottom this season,do I'm still expecting us struggling again..

    2) if your going to play with wingers they have to go at a man With pace and have the ability to deliver good balls into attackers. - True ,but we do not know if S D has told say Lennon to hold back, more helping defence a little? In that case he has a wing half and a left back to deal with.(2 players).

    3) if you’re going to play 4-4-2 .........What good is Pope's big boot upfield when 2 attackers are facing 3 defenders and a goalkeeper? How many times can we retain the ball,in a match? With luck? I will not build a football team with the game plan called ''if we are lucky!''
As I said Balan hamster and wheel

1)You will never head the ball onto no one As we don't have pace or the inclination to get ahead of the front man

    2) if we spend all our time defensive and stop outside men contributing or using pace and worrying about 2 players _ he'll always have two players to deal with ( teams that come to us work us out quickly _ we go deeper as you imply ancient have pace or ball retention to get us up the field , hence as I implied our defence is under the cosh alot.

    3) I've no objection to pope kicking it as long as the two up front work together to bring each other into play ,also as I alluded to.previously we don't have a midfielder that can get to them who is competent enough to keep the ball or God help us whos quick enough to beat a man and stretch other teams. ( back to your defensive Dyche quote 're Lennon for example.

It's really not a science and it comes down to players abilities, my hamster and wheel analogy perfectly describes our predicament along with your reply, we can't get forward because were on the defensive too much and we definitely don't have any pace , and even if we do it can't be used as it appears outside men are being stifled

We could have Shearer, Pele and Thierry Henry all at their prime in our forward line each game, and if they are not getting the right service they will do jack Schit.

True Alto, but like I said - the same applies to midfielders and defenders.

Teams who can afford Pogba/Trent Alexander Arnold/De Bruyne etc are likely to create more chances than Hendrick/Brady/Cork.
But these type of players are way out of our budget.

We are doing bloody well to be competitive in this league with all that daft money flying about.

I don’t think anyone is arguing against the fact 59-60

But reality is Man City Liverpool and 3-4 more are on a different planet ,

What I think people are saying is that it’s blatantly obvious we are lacking pace and a bit of quality to help out to try and make us slightly more competitive.

I love Burnley but in all honesty I would like us to have a shot on a goal in 180 minutes of football.

It’s time for Dyche to loosen the reigns a bit and also recruit some useful additions not just fill numbers.

I believe Sean wants to recruit some useful additions as well, but every time he mentions it to Mr Garlick, he feels like he's banging his head against the wall. If this is indeed the case then Sean needs to start banging Mr Garlick's head against the wall, because one day he will be looking for another job, and the tedious non-football we play due to Mike's parsimony, is going to make one of the best coaches in the game just about unemployable at the top level of English football. For the sake of his career, Sean needs to upgrade this squad rapidly and significantly, because the dross we're regularly churning out now is seriously damaging his reputation.

Or maybe he's not bothered, what do I know.

How hard is it to scout around Europe to find someone with creativity, pace and an eye for goal 59, if you ask BFC they will come with all the same bollox of "we cannot compete", "we are in transition", "a work in progress", "Dyche type player" "has to have the attitude" and all the other spin they spew out every year 59, I'm not saying that it will work, far from it, but we will not know if we don't try and keep all our "daft" money doing buggar all in the Bank, a reframe from buying sub standard players (Walters, Lennon, Pieters.) would be a good start, also stop throwing money down the toilet with players like Vydra, Wells and Gibson who cannot even retain a bench start.

We might be doing well, but its down right poor performances and disgraceful for the fans who spend money they can ill afford to travel to watch their team who obviously don't want to win with the tactics that they perform, our Premier League bubble will burst soon enough and I believe this coming January window is the last chance for Garlick and Co to help maintain PL status, if its not too late anyway.
