Thread: Alex Dyer

  1. #11
Sad to say Alex has lost his post tonight after his side lost their bottle and a two goal lead to lose v St Johnstone. His position has been tenuous for a wee while now and seem to remember he was recently subject to some racist abuse from Kilmarnock fans. Maybe better placed as assistant manager but hope his absence from the game is short.

I had a little look at Will Hayhurst after reading this thread. I remember him retiring at 23 after two injury plagued seasons with us.

Now still in his mid 20s he is back at Farsley in the Conference North and doing well by all accounts. Good on him!

But more interestingly i see Jimmy Spencer also plays for them and has a pretty decent goal record at that level too. Still only 29...

    Worth a look?

That was shortly after Gary Brazil took over from Sam Allardyce and we were still in the top two of league one. That was one hell of a capitulation, don't think we even made the playoffs in the end.
Something we agree on, Gary Brazil what an idiot- wrecked a great chance for to return to tier 2

Up there with Gary Mills as the worst Notts manager ever ( and with Kiwomya as well).

Don’t open that can of worms, worst manager ever has a lot of worthy candidates.

    Many many candidates indeed Don.

Whenever someone mentions Gary Mills and his time as manager I'm instantly taken back to an away game at Rushden and Diamonds where I was fortunate enough to be a guest of the hosts. We lost 5-1 as any Pie in attendance will surely never forget and I was embarrassed at both HT and FT whilst exchanging pleasantries. Awful manager, awful performance from the team

Incredibly high flying Rushden at that point hardly won a game from that game onwards and actually finished below us and one place above the relegation zone that season.
