That makes no sense why would we get a loan for the u23's?

From various sources.....He will join Derby for the rest of the season and go straight into the development squad. The youngster will play for Derby’s U23s and hope to impress Philip Cocu enough to earn a place in the first team......

Our very own DET says he goes straight into the academy!

Corect me if I'm wrong be we were looking for firepower in the first team, the u23 seem to be doing just fine

I thought we were looking to strengthen the first team in midfield and defence, certainly another striker would be welcome. Maybe thats just to get his fitness levels up, seeing as he hasn't played many if any games at this level, but its not exactly what was hoped for!

Indeed, and for the second summer in succession (at least) we are likely to be searching for a left sided CD following a successful loan.

Thought Clarke was excellent last night but I’m equally puzzled on hearing that Hepburn-Murphy is heading for the U23’s. What is the point of that?

We certainly found it last night. Here's hoping that wasn't a flash in the pan.

It was flash I'll say that, a one off or a sign of that late season run into the playoffs that RA has been forecasting for most of the season?

:roll eyes: You just don’t give up do you. I haven’t been forecasting a ‘late season run into the playoffs for most of the season’ at all.

When you decided, in October I think, that the season was ‘done’ and Cocu was crap, I said that as long as we were still ‘in touch’ and made the right signings in January we could still be the side to make a late run.

I’ve also said it now looks extremely unlikely and clearly we didn’t make the signings we needed.

It’s a strange League...we’ve lost the same number of games as ‘high flying’ Brentford and had we not thrown away three points at Luton and continued the run that started on Boxing Day then everyone, except perhaps you, would be getting all excited, but...we didn’t make the signings...we did chuck those points away...our away form is dreadful and, for what it’s worth, I suspect the final top six will be made up of clubs in the current top eight.
