Almiron has been a disappointment overall. His first six months were a failure overall, and now he's showing signs of improvement which is great. He will never advance to a much higher level than this, IMO.

You can't fault him for his effort, but the same can be said about Manquillo. Harsh, I know, but effort doesn't warrant quality.

Schar certainly could play at a higher level.

Dubravka is another, like Hughie said, didn't bat an eyelid when he was linked with Juve. Been linked with Chelski as well last week.

I think ASM could play at a higher level, not sure a "superstar" though.

I'd have agreed on Lejuene but i think his repeated injuries have taken a toll, so not sure anymore.

    Good thread, Hughie.

If lejeune can overcome his injuries i think he could go on to be one of the best CB's around.

As said, Dubravka is a fantastic 'Keeper who wouldn't look out of place at a top club, imo.

The Saint is a funny one. For all the excitement he brings, his end product (bar the odd screamer ) is lacking and his decision-making is still poor. BUT, we've seen how Traore at Wolves has come on massively with decent coaching and I think Saint Maximin has a huge amount of potential.

Totally disagree about Shelvey, P'boro...he's definitely got a lot of talent but he is far too lacking in consistency to ever make it 'big'. He was at a big club in Liverpool and was found wanting.

I wonder what we would say about these players if we had a decent manager to bring them on, and I'm not talking about Rafa by the way. Then again, as long as Ashley is here we wont get a decent manager so it's a moot point I suppose.

Dubravka and Schar are the only ones who could step up a grade. Lejuene is too injury prone.

Jokelinton is quite tall so he could maybe go on to be a high shelf stacker at Tesco or B & Q

Yes, they kid themselves that because they are in the 1st Division it's still 1992 and the Prem doesn't exist.

And they aren't bursting bubbles in the 1st either.

    Of course we are.

As a club we are just as massive as Liverpool, Chelsea, etc., but on the field we're not nearly as "massive" (good). They are centuries ahead of us in that regard.
