Thread: O/T:- Self-Isolating

  1. #11
I’m terrified for my mum and dad. Both are in poor health and rely on my sister and me and external carers for our help every single day.

I have a cold, but I’m ultra careful when I have to go around there just in case it’s something worse, but some simply cannot isolate.

Flu kills, but isn’t anywhere as infectious as this. Anyone underestimating this needs to ask themselves how they would feel if they were responsible for passing this on to someone they love with terrible consequences......

Be safe everyone, be sensible. But life has to go on.

I wouldnt take to much notice of scientific or medical consensus, they are non the wiser about covid 19 than your average joe

It still doesnt change the fact that whatever this covid 19 is- it cannot be stopped so we might as well carry on.

If this virus persists for long time- probably for ever now like the normal flu, are people going to self isolate for ever?

Both myself and my wife are over 70 so it looks like we will have no choice. It has to happen as long as it is necessary.. Thing is, what the hell am I going to talk to the wife about for 4 months non stop..she gets fed up after 30 seconds when I talk about the Pies...

Of course not! I never get flu. Why? Because I get a flu jab every year.

No doubt somewhere along the road there'll be a corona virus jab.

I cant speak for others , but i feel the same

I more concerned about my elderly parents getting this than myself

No body is responsible for passing a virus on to others,

the virus is here and if its like flu, it will be around for a long time. But i and others have to go to work, have to get food and goods from shops, i cant just disappear for 6 months, And what good would it do if i could, the virus will still be there

It's hard to know where to draw the line. I don't usually have a particularly busy social calendar, my only engagements in the coming week are a meal in town tomorrow, a game of squash on Wednesday, and a week in Portugal next starting Sunday. I'm in the higher risk age group, but my respiratory system should be better than most my age because I have never smoked and exercise regularly. I will go to the meal, and probably a drink or two before and after, and I will play squash as usual. Unless things suddenly change for the better however, I will give Portugal a miss. It was only meant to be a cheap and cheerful bit of warm weather, but from reading the Albufeira forum on trip advisor the bars on the strip are being forced to close at 9pm now, with a probable full closure starting tomorrow. I don't want to go there to sit in an apartment for a week, so I'll take any losses on the chin. The flights were only £80 each return, and we've only paid a 25% deposit on the room. The downside is that I'll probably spend more time on here!

Forget what the scientific experts say, Davy on NCM has called it and overruled them.
