Aye the Shades stuff is expensive as **** at the best of times. That was just Ducksback I used. And yeah, even the watery Ronseal is going for 3/4 times the RRP on ebay. Its ****ing ridiculous.

Hahahaha! Notice B&Q have now stopped selling paint. Strictly essential materials only.

That is a hard one. Define essential?

Plumbing - yip. Electrics - yip. Flock wallpaper - hmmm. Plants- hmmm. Pent - hmmm. etc etc.

For folk in total lockdown, these things might be essential to their mental wellbeing, or each others mortality

Pretty much that mate. Builders, plumbers, sparks materials etc.

I completely agree with your second point. People with mental health issues need an escape right now and it's been taken away somewhat. Absolutely not the fault of B&Q, but I see people on social media jumping on the backs of folk buying things like paint. For some people, like myself, it's all I've had to keep me busy throughout lockdown. The days are hard enough without being denied that small piece of normality.

The outside toilet used by all members of the bedsit and our nextdoor neighbours badly needs a spruce up but i have unfortunately not been able to source the paint required. The fence stuff was bought last year so that was no problem.
