Thread: Our squad

Cayton has called it spot on for me, with just one exception. I saw enough in Lindsey, before his family issues, to suggest that there is a quality midfielder in there.

I can’t keep up with what’s happening tbh, when did the billionaire take over?

Good point miller , take a look at the three clubs who currently occupy the bottom 3 places in the championship and then take a look at the final league table from last season in league one .

All three of us invested in our squads last summer and in my opinion all three of us made it more difficult for ourselves by doing so , especially ourselves and Luton Town .

It maybe more astute to go with the majority of what you have and just bring a couple in within budget .

The championship may well come more towards Rotherham when any new season begins with the financial implications for some of these big clubs who before the pandemic were right on the line financially .

A bit of continuity might be the smart play , the championship isn't going to be the beast it was before this pandemic in my opinion .

All this positive chatter makes me want to go down to the nys on Thursday and let off some red flares.
If I did I'd make sure I'm not within 10m of anyone and have a portable fire extinguisher with me.

Please don't try this at home it's just a dream scenario

True grumpy potential is there but can he develop it? From what I have seen his family problems have stalled his progress

No point going up to the championship to struggle again all season. When this season was halted we didn't even look a league 1 promotion side. We were missing Ihiewke & Barlaser but you can't rely on just 2 players. I'd say 4 or 5 signings to improve the side would give the side some fresh impetus.

Lindsay he's one of my boys along with Lamy. I just see something in them. Need a manager to give them the belief.

If it is the championship. Who from our squad (Inc loans) is good enough and where would you strengthen?.

    My conclusion.
Iverson. Maybe! He looked a bit iffy and nervous a few games before the season ended. Looked solid prior the that.

Jones. No. Solid when fit but age and pace is against him
Thompson. Yes. Like his energy and commitment. Would do a job.
Olosunde. Maybe. Still raw and better going forward than defending. Good backup for Thompson.

Wood. No. League one is his level. Pace always gets him in champ.

Ike. Yes. Solid pacey. Reads the game well. Arial presence is his weak link.

Robertson. Yes. Reminds me of Morgan. Solid and smart defender.

    Tilt. Maybe. Could be owt.

Mattock. Mmm yes ish? Best season 2 year ago when we were last in the champ. Injury's over last 12 month a worry.

Cooper. No. Needs league one/two loan to develop more.

Chio. Yes. Fearless. Will scare the sht out of champ defenders.

Wiles. Yes. If he developes like he has over the past 2 season he will be good. He's possiblity a better champ player than league one.

Crooks. Yes. Has everything to play at champ level. Attacking midfielder is when he's looked at his best.

Linsey. No. He looked league one at best. He doesn't have anything that's stand out except hard working.

Barlaser. Yes. The only thing he lacks is pace. Has the rest to succeed.

Clarke. No. Needs LGE 1 loan to develop.

McDonald. No. At his best he's a yes though age is not on his side..

Adeluken. No. Not shown enough pace or skill wise to play higher up the league's.

Koroma. No. Looked like a 17 year old very raw and little return. More game time was needed to get a better assessment.

Grafton. No. Non league loan needed to develop.

Smith. Yes/no. Not a goal scorer, good strong frontman. We need better to stay in champ.

Vassell. No. 4 goals after Xmas blurred what he's done for the miller's. Injury prone (even before signing for us).

Ladapo. Yes. Needs to offer more off the ball. Only natural goal scorer we have.

I know before the glass half empty folk reply, in warne we trust, and we're not in champ yet, and there contracted so will still be here..
9 yes plus 3 maybe imo.
Pretty much what I was thinking get rid of McDonald Jones and the loans (maybe try get barlaser back) and replace them with 3 new midfielders a new keeper and a fullback and a loan striker.

The way I see it our biggest flaw is our midfield the only three I think who could play for us in champ is wiles chio and crooks and that’s just not enough (not counting barlaser because I don’t think we will get him back)

From what iv seen of lamy I think he’s about half a year away from becoming a championship player he is almost at chio level but lacks stamina and a cross

Lamy out of contract in June. Is he worth a extra 12 month? Should warne look for better?
Imo he needs 6 month in league 2 and then look again. He's lightweight ATM and a bit head down and run. He needs to come through the divisions to learn his trade.
Couldn't get in a weak Wimbledon side so Think warne will let him go
